In the Chainsaw Man anime, Himeno made her debut in episode four, in which Denji fights and defeats the bat devil, before he gets overwhelmed by the leech devil. Luckily, Aki Hayakawa arrives just in time to save him. It's also the time Himeno made her first appearance in Chainsaw Man.
3. Chainsaw Man: Himeno’s Appearance
Himeno was an attractive young woman with a voluptuous body and a friendly face. She also had short, silky black hair, and wore an eyepatch on her right eye as well as a Public Safety suit consisting of a white shirt, and black tie.
4. One of the Seasoned Hunters at the Public Safety Devil Hunters
As you might have noticed, Himeno was one of the seniors at the Public Safety Devil Hunters, where she was often assigned to train and supervise new members in her division. Because of that, Himeno was even called as a senpai by her colleagues, including Aki Hayakawa, who became the leader of division 4 during the mission to save Denji and Power from the Bat Devil. Himeno was known as a kind, jovial senior who's considerate of her colleagues.
5. Himeno Lost Most of Her Colleagues
Himeno worked as a devil hunter for Public Safety for a long time. So, she had lost lots of her comrades throughout her career. She often lost several of her proteges on missions at the hands of devils. So, Kishibe, one of Himeno's seniors, had to keep bringing in new recruits to be partners and mentored by Himeno.
Behind her friendly approach towards her juniors, Himeno kept a dark past and her constant fear of losing her comrades as they tended to fall on the battlefield. Not only that, Himeno also had to face the family and those closest to their fallen comrades or juniors. They tend to take out their anger on Himeno. So, it's not surprising that Himeno was very afraid of losing Aki, especially when Kobeni injured Aki with her knife.

6. Himeno's Contract with the Ghost Devil
In Chainsaw Man, it is common for a devil hunter to make a contract with a devil as it is a legal thing, and almost all devil hunters make a contract with a devil, at some cost. Himeno had a contract with the Ghost Devil, a devil that embodies fear of ghosts.
As a result of this contract, Himeno was allowed to use the power of the Ghost Devil's right hand and control it like Power did in Chainsaw Man. But in exchange, Himeno had to pay the price, she had to give one of her eyes permanently. That's the reason why Himeno always wore a black blindfold since her debut in Chainsaw Man.
7. Secretly Had Feelings for Aki
Granted, Himeno seemed to be close with everyone at the Public Safety Devil Hunters. But Himeno had a special bond with Aki Hayakawa. It all started when one of Himeno's ex-colleague's girlfriend slapped her for the death of her late lover. Seeing this, Aki retaliated by sticking a gum on the girl's hair, and that amused Himeno. Since then, the relationship between the two blossomed. This explains why they were always seen together when hunting devils.
But apparently, aside from being the doting senior, Himeno secretly had feelings for Aki. In episode five, when the Eternal Demon targeted Denji, she almost intended to sacrifice Denji instead of having to let Aki use his sword, which could shorten his life. Even though Himeno actually said the reason Aki couldn't use his sword was because he still had business with Gun Devil. However, Himeno once told Denji that she had a crush on Aki, even asked Denji to help her get closer to Aki. Even so, this love might seem to be unreciprocated, as Aki has actually fallen in love with Makima.
8. She's the One Who Taught Aki to Smoke
Aki Hayakawa was initially not a smoker, he looked more like a button-down young man who liked to take care of his health. However, it was actually Himeno who taught Aki to smoke. Besides that, another proof that Aki is a person who cares about his health is when Himeno first asked him whether he smoked or not, Aki said no because it was not good for his health.
Himeno then suggested to Aki to just start smoking, as her feelings said they would work together for quite a long time. So, smoking together could build closeness between them. However, at that time, Aki was still a minor, so Himeno took back the cigarette she gave to Aki. But once Aki was within the legal age to smoke, Aki became a smoker.
9. Himeno Liked to Kiss Whenever She's Drunk
Apart from smoking, Himeno also enjoyed drinking, especially beer. When division 4 was facing the Eternal Devil, Himeno offered to Denji if he was able to kill the devil, she would give him a kiss. Her offer gave Denji the motivation to finish off the devil completely. However, at the time of their celebratory dinner, one of Himeno's colleagues told Denji that Himeno had a habit of kissing people when she was heavily drunk. Even everyone present at the party except the new members, was once kissed by Himeno as they couldn't run away once she was so drunk.
10. Was About to Quit Being a Devil Hunter
According to a flashback, Himeno once asked Aki to quit his job as a devil hunter and encouraged Aki to work as a private hunter to make his life easier and less risky. Himeno realized that her job as a devil hunter had many risks that she would continue losing her comrades. Knowing Aki's ambition to kill Gun Devil, Himeno was worried so she encouraged Aki to work in the private sector of devil hunters. Unfortunately, Aki refused the offer so both of them would still work as devil hunters.
11. She Was Willing to Die For Aki
Himeno's death occurs in Chapter 25, where the devil hunters, Denji, Power, Himeno, and Aki, are facing the Katana devil who's the grandson of a Yakuza member. When they were attacked, Himeno begged the Ghost Devil to lend all of its power to finish off the enemy. But of course this came with a cost, Himeno must let her body be destroyed and became the property of the Ghost Devil. Before her demise, Himeno even told Aki that she wanted Aki to be the one who mourned her death. Then her body just disappeared, leaving only her clothes, which signified the end of her life.
Himeno's passing is one of the saddest and most painful deaths as it happened so quickly and unexpectedly. Furthermore, Himeno hadn't achieved all of her dreams, which was to end up as Aki's lover and make him like her. But Himeno managed to make Aki look at her and even cry over her departure as a comrade.
