Isaiah Bradley can be said to be one of the superheroes who is not considered a hero, even though his services are very large. Isaiah Bradley himself has the power of Project: Rebirth and is the only soldier alive and manages to have power equal to Captain America or Steve Rogers, unfortunately he is exiled and lives in deep fear.

The Dunia Games team will discuss some facts about Isaiah Bradley who became the black version of Captain America in the Marvel universe. Let's see in more detail.

1. Created in 2003 via Truth: Red, White & Black #1

Famous from the Falcon and The Winter Soldier series, Isaiah Bradley immediately became the center of attention for MCU movie lovers to find out who he really was. In fact, Isaiah Bradley is a character from Marvel Comics who appeared in 2003, through a comic entitled Truth: Red, White & Black #1. He is also known to have been created by 3 people, Robert Morales, Kyle Baker, and Axel Alonso.

2. Got Power through Project: Rebirth

Isaiah Bradley's character is a character who will become Captain America or rather become Black Captain America. Similar to Steve Rogers, Isaiah Bradley also has Captain America's strength from a Super Soldier serum experiment. This was because the United States government wanted to duplicate the Super Soldier serum, and after that an experiment called Project: Rebirth was carried out only on black people, one of them was Isaiah.

3. Inspired by True Stories

Because Isaiah came from an experiment called Project: Rebirth which was only carried out on black people, it is clear that this is included as something that is quite racist. In fact, the origins of Isaiah's powers are inspired by a true story. The story comes from the dark history of black people in the United States in 1932 to 1972, where the United States government tested hundreds of black men to study "Tuskegee Syphilis".

4. Originally Was to be Made as a Scientist

One of Isaiah Bradley's creators, Robert Morales, explained that he actually wanted to make Isaiah Bradley's character as a scientist, not as a warrior. Morales admitted that initially he intended to make Isaiah a scientist who conducted experiments on himself so that he would get super powers. But unfortunately, Marvel also prefers Isaiah Bradley's origins from similarities with the Tuskegee Syphilis Study phenomenon.

5. The Sole Survivor of Project: Rebirth

Isaiah Bradley aka Black Captain America was one of 300 African American soldiers used as test subjects at Camp Cathcart as part of Project: Rebirth's efforts to recreate the Super Soldier serum. But unfortunately, out of 300 subjects, only five people managed to survive and get the Super Soldier serum. The five survivors were left with only one person, Isaiah, because the other four actually died during the war.

6. Became Captain America Because of a Comic

Isaiah Bradley is the only survivor of the Project: Rebirth experiment and also the only survivor of the war. After being left to die by his partner, Isaiah accidentally finds a comic that tells the story of Captain America, so in the end he intends to become Captain America. Isaiah then disappeared and immediately stole Captain America's spare costume and immediately used his identity.

7. His Wife Kept Begging the US President to Release Isaiah

Unlike the story in the MCU, in the actual comic version, Isaiah who was arrested was successfully released from the role of his wife who was very tenacious begging the President of the United States. His wife realized that Isaiah was very isolated in her prison, so she decided to write a letter to the President of the United States requesting her husband's release. She wrote to President Eisenhower every month for three years, and her efforts directly freed Isaiah.

8. Have a Wife and Children

In fact, Isaiah, who is married to Faith Bradley, already has their first child, a daughter named Sarah Gail Bradley, who later gave birth to many grandchildren for them. While Isaiah was still in prison, he underwent a test to try to recreate the Super Soldier serum. During the test, the military obtained a semen sample and combined it with an egg sample they obtained during Faith's appendectomy. The results of the military experiment also succeeded in producing a son named Josiah X.

9. Important Role in World War II

When Isaiah used the title Captain America, Isaiah Bradley also existed in many wars, including the war against the Nazis in Germany in World War II to be precise. During that war, Isaiah succeeded in ruining the Super Soldier experiment carried out by Hitler's party. Although he was imprisoned by the Nazis for trying to ruining his experiments. But after months, Isaiah was free because he was saved by their Allied Forces.

10. Jailed For Stealing Captain America's Costume

Even though he was saved by the Allied Forces and returned to the United States when he managed to thwart the Super Soldier experiment, it still did not make him free from the punishment that awaited him. The sentence was imprisonment, the reason being that Isaiah had stolen the Captain America costume, which was considered forbidden because the costume was state property.

11. Perfect in Every Way

Isaiah Bradley's strength benchmark states that he is a figure who excels in every way. Due to being exposed to the Super Soldier serum, Isaiah also has super strength that can make him lift up to 800 lbs. Then the speed can reach up to 30 mph, long stamina and immunity to poison, to super endurance that makes it able to fall from several floors like 100 feet and withstand a number of punches from super human opponents.

12. Super-Fast Healing Ability

Even though it seems that Isaiah is a strong and invulnerable figure, in fact he can also be injured as was the case with Steve Rogers. But even though he can be injured by enemy attacks, such as scratches or broken bones, Isaiah can still heal these wounds in a short time. Isaiah's non-fatal physical injuries, in fact, can be healed within a few days to a few hours, all of that is of course thanks to the Super Soldier serum he has.

13. Steve Once Gave His Old Costume to Isaiah

Steve Rogers who had just reappear from the ice managed to find out about the treatment Isaiah suffered as well as his histories. After learning about Isaiah, Steve immediately looked for him and met Isaiah and his wife. When Steve met him, Steve immediately presented him with his old Captain America uniform, as a way of trying to recognize the hero and appreciate him.

14. The First Captain America in 616

The additional retcon at 616 makes it clear that in the comics, Isaiah Bradley was the first Captain America and Steve Rogers came after him. The first retcon came in the comic series The Crew which also featured Josiah X. In that series, Isaiah is constantly referred to as “the first Captain America”. Then when Young Avengers was published, they continued that story, and all of Eli and Isaiah's future storylines revolved around Isaiah becoming the first Captain America.

15. Never Considered as a Superhero in MCU

In the MCU version of Falcon and Winter Soldier, Isaiah, who was once a war hero, served 30 years in prison. It's a shame it's not clear why Isaiah was imprisoned. But clearly, Isaiah's imprisonment has symbolized that it is a form of discrimination against black superheroes, because he is not considered a hero at all even though he has contributed.
