The two of them end up fighting and after Gray defeats her and Fairy Tail defeats Juvia's old guild called Phantom Lord, Juvia and Gajeel appear at the guildhall to join Fairy Tail.

2. Fairy Tail is not her first Guild

Originally, Juvia was part of Element 4 in her first guild. Phantom Lord is the second strongest guild when compared to Fairy Tail. This guild was created because the founder of Phantom Lord had a deep hatred for the founding members of Fairy Tail.
