Healer ninjas have a crucial role in every ninja squad in the Naruto series. One of the famous healer ninjas is Sakura Haruno who gained her healing powers from Tsunade. Aside from Sakura, there is also a healer ninja from the Uzumaki clan; Karin Uzumaki, who once was one of Orochimaru’s human experiments and has a unique healing ability, by biting her.

1. Karin is from the Uzumaki Clan

Karin is a kunoichi (female ninja) from one of the rarest ninja clans, the Uzumaki clan, and that is spot on from her look: her red hair (similar to Nagato and Kushina). Karin Uzumaki surely has a talent from her bloodline in which she has a massive amount of chakra, even Karin can produce chakra chains just like Kushina did.

2. Karin Was One of Orochimaru's Mainstay Ninjas

It’s not Sasuke who became Orochimaru’s mainstay, because Orochimaru only wanted Sasuke for his Uchiha bloodline as well as the former’s obsession for it. Orochimaru had plenty of test subjects, starting from the failures to the successful ones, and Karin was one of Orochimaru’s successful experiments. Karin was often relied upon by Orochimaru because he knows that Karin is unique, tough, and a smart woman.

3. Has Mastered Kagura Shingan

It’s not surprising that Sasuke recruited Karin to join his cause for hunting Itachi Uchiha because Karin is a woman who has useful abilities for herself as well as for the team. Other than healing, Karin has an ability named Kagura Shingan. With that ability, Karin can detect other people’s chakra from quite afar.

4. Has Mastered Shosen Jutsu

Aside from being able to detect other people’s chakra, Karin was also chosen by Sasuke because of another unique ability that she has. In this case, Karin has a Jutsu that she is mastered so well namely Shosen Jutsu, or can be said as healing Jutsu. This healing Jutsu is quite unique because Karin can cure wounded people by transferring her chakra to the recipients in which the wounded bite her body.

5. Karin is Still a Genin

It looks like Orochimaru’s team members don’t have a high rank as a ninja, and it’s not a big deal for Orochimaru because he respects someone for their potential, not their ranks. Karin was one of Orochimaru’s test subjects who turns out still a Genin, and one of the factors that makes her still a low-rank ninja is she failed in the Chunin exam that held in Leaf Village.

6. Karin Has 2 Voice Actresses

Did you know that Karin has two voice actresses (or called Seiyuu in Japanese)? Karin is one of the anime characters who is voiced by two people. In her appearance in Naruto Shippuden, she was voiced by Kanoko Tojo, but for an unknown reason, she was later recast by Toa Yukinari in later episodes until her appearance in Boruto. Many people don’t realize that Karin’s voice actress has changed since Naruto Shippuden episode 485.

7. Karin is Able to Know If Someone is Lying

Not only able to detect someone’s chakra and know their position but there is another function of that ability that is useful to find out information. It turns out that Karin is able to know if someone is lying from their chakra. Not only that, but Karin is also able to detect whether someone is under a Genjutsu or not, so Karin is also useful even when she’s alone.

8. Had the Same Responsibility Like Her Mother

Karin’s mother was dead because she’s unable to cure so many wounded people, so Karin was chosen to replace her. Karin’s mother was chosen to cure the wounded in the Grass Village because she’s already vowed to save them in exchange for her and Karin’s safety, but her mother was unable to realize her promise and died, leaving Karin as well as her responsibility.

9. Karin is a Smart Woman

Karin is one of the smartest women in Naruto Shippuden, and it’s because she can trick other people with her own methods. One of the moments when she tricked people was when she acted like a mental person to escape from Leaf prison. Not only tricked other people but Karin is also able to know someone's tricks quickly and she’s also quick to realize if she’s being watched.

10. Once Helped Sakura to Give Birth to Sarada

Sasuke once walked together with Sakura and Karin at the same time, and at the same moment, Sakura had to give birth and Karin was the only one able to help Sakura to give birth to Sarada. As a result, Sarada was successfully born due to Karin’s help, as well as helping the former to gain better vision by giving her latter’s glasses that she used at that time.
