What are the 6 facts that best describe the true nature of King Bradley aka Wrath? Let's follow the discussion of this Full Metal Alchemist character!
Anime & Manga | 04 October
The popular anime based on Hiromu Arakawa's manga titled Fullmetal Alchemist is set in the world of steampunk. In the series, which has also been adapted into several live-action films and aired on Netflix, presents all kinds of scary villains that the protagonists have to face. Father, the main villain, has seven homunculi, and one of them is Wrath aka King Bradley, as the embodiment of anger and destruction.
Fuhrer King Bradley was the wise-looking military leader of Amestris and a man who was proud of his family. But it's all a lie because he's a human-turned homunculus, and his son Selim Bradley is actually a homunculus named Pride. Time and time again, Wrath has proven himself to be a devastating homunculus and a cunning and ruthless villain. What are the 6 facts that best describe the true nature of King Bradley aka Wrath? Let's follow the discussion of this Full Metal Alchemist character!
1. The Name is Taken from the Name of a Tank
Most of the characters in the world of Fullmetal Alchemist are named after military equipment, weapons, and vehicles, from "Hawkeye" to "Mustang" to "Armstrong," and writer Hiromu Arakawa never missed his in-depth research for the series. All the names in this series are very meaningful.
The name "King Bradley" comes from the M2 Bradley Infantry Combat Vehicle, a type of small tank that debuted in 1981. The infantry fighting vehicle, or IFV, is intended to carry troops at high speed and provide fire support during combat.
2. He has Something in Common with Ling
Prince Ling is one of the Full Metal Alchemist characters from the Xing country which is analogous to China in the real world. What does King Bradley have in common with Ling? Both were born human, but yearned for glory, and have the Philosopher's Stone placed within their bodies.
The difference was that young Bradley was forced to give up his body and soul to become a homunculus, while Ling's greedy ambition was 100% non-coercive, and Ling happily placed the Stone of Greed within him. Eventually Bradley and Ling become homunculus, though Ling actually loses Greed's powers before becoming the emperor of Xing.
3. He's Good At Acting To Fool Everyone
Wrath is a man-made homunculus that lives among humans, and he needs to act like an ordinary human to maintain his role.
His role depended on his ability to be human. Wrath and Pride are both ready to act as father and son or King Bradley and Selim.

4. His Character is an Analogy of Adolf Hitler
The real-life Adolf Hitler did appear in the movie Conqueror of Shamballa, but for the Full Metal Alchemist series, we get a similar figure in King Bradley. One of his titles was Fuhrer, and he was a militaristic head of state inspired by Nazi Germany.
Let's not forget how King Bradley demanded war against the ethnic minority Ishval as part of Father's plan, and he wanted to help create a new world for a select few of the preeminent races. But luckily that particular plan was thwarted.
5. He Fights Very Efficiently
Many of the villains in the anime series, including some in the Fullmetal Alchemist series, enjoy the process of fighting they go through to enjoy the action and watch their opponents crumble in despair. Kimblee and Envy often do this, but Wrath doesn't.
Wrath aka King Bradley is both efficient and ruthless, and he wants quick results in his fights, not a game to be enjoyed. He fought Greed with 100% of his fighting ability to catch him quickly, and he defeated many of his opponents on the Promised Day as quickly as he could. According to Wrath the fight is not a sport, but a war or battle.
6. Unlike Other Homunculus, Bradley Has Only One Soul
Most homunculus have multiple souls within them because their Philosopher's Stone contains countless human remains. In fact, Hohenheim and Father each had over 500,000 souls in them. But Wrath aka King Bradley only had one Soul.
This minimizes his regenerative powers, meaning he tends to heal more slowly and is almost as capable as the human race he looks down on. Ling and the other soldiers of the Xing nation noted that they only sensed one soul within the Wrath, unlike Pride and Gluttony and the other homunculus.
