Kirin is one of Sasuke's most powerful attacks based on the lightning element. This technique is so fast and deadly that it even made Itachi Uchiha have to use his strongest defense technique, Susano'o, to evade it.

As one of the strongest techniques Sasuke possesses, there are some of the most interesting Kirin facts to discuss. Curious? Here is the full review for us to discuss.

1. Uses Natural Lightning

Sasuke draws natural lightning straight from the thunder cloud to increase the power of his attacks and control them with chakra. Unlike most techniques which are based on the user's chakra, this technique uses natural lightning and can reach the ground in 1/1000th of a second according to Zetsu.

However, the required preparation time also reduces the efficiency of the technique. If there are no active thunder clouds, the user must create them using powerful fire techniques to generate the conditions they need. With techniques like Amaterasu, stronger storm conditions can be created by them.

Once a lightning source is obtained, shaping and directing lightning at the target requires very little chakra. This technique was powerful enough to completely obliterate a small mountain when it hit the ground.

Unfortunately this technique in a battle can not be used often considering the conditions are quite complicated. But if the user needs a strong technique, they can create rain clouds again even though the preparation is quite complicated.

2. Kirin and Team 7 Concept

In chapter 309, when Sasuke was about to kill Team 7, he took a stance similar to when he was about to use Kirin, but there were no thunderclouds or rain. This is probably not done because Kishimoto has not designed the concept for the technique.

The reason is, Kirin only appeared in the battle between Sasuke and Itachi in chapter 391 which is certainly quite far from Sasuke's meeting with Team 7. We think, if the concept of Kirin was introduced in chapter 309, would Sasuke direct it to his friends?

3. Sasuke Only Casts Kirin 2 Times!

So far Sasuke has only released Kirin 2 times in the Naruto series. The first time was during the battle with Itachi where this had a significant impact on Itachi's health and physique. Then one time when Sasuke took Kirin out when confronted with Naruto in the Valley of the End.

Unlike Itachi, Naruto was not significantly affected by Kirin. He was still able to stand even though he was injured with this technique. This indicates that Kirin is indeed a powerful jutsu, but when applied to a tough opponent, Kirin looks like an ordinary jutsu.

This indicates that although Kirin is very fast, there are still ninja who can survive the attack.
