Spy x Family follows Loid Forger, a super agent on a mission called Operation Strix, which requires him to build a family with Anya as his daughter and Yor as his wife. He lives a daily life while secretly carrying out his mission. Loid Forger is a super agent and one of the main characters in Spy x Family. 4. The Meaning Behind Loid’s Lapel Pin

If you take a closer look, Twilight always wears a lapel pin on his clothes. This pin is actually his organization’s symbol. The Westalia Intelligence Services' Eastern-Focused Division (W.I.S.E.) is an organization devoted to keeping the peace between Ostania and Westalis.

5. His Cold Personality

As an agent, Loid is always stoic, cold, and efficient in getting his job done. He will do anything to complete his mission. From infiltrating the enemy’s organization, dating his target’s daughter, to adopting a child and having a family as he did in his current mission. He does all of that by removing his emotions as he believes that it helps all the parties involved not to get too attached when the mission is over. However, he still has a good heart as you can see when he saved Anya or when he helped an old lady who got pickpocketed.

While most spies work alone, Loid has a trusted informant named Franky Franklin, who helps gather information for Loid in his missions. From gathering intel about the Eden Academy entrance exam to screening a list of candidates who are suitable to be Loid's wife. He is a kind person who's always willing to help Loid, even in the direst situations.

7. Has a Difficult Past

Loid has a dark past, he was a victim of war which resulted in him becoming an orphan. He used to live alone from when he was little until he felt hopeless and abandoned. As a matter of fact, he wanted to become a spy to create a world where children won't have to go through what he went through. So, it's no wonder that Loid doesn't like seeing Anya cry when she wants to be left alone as it reminds him of his past.

8. Yor Teaches Him to Have Empathy

Apparently, having a family as part of his mission has softened Loid a bit. He empathizes with Yor who sincerely makes sacrifices for others in need. Just like in Episode 3 of Spy x Family, where Yor instinctively helps an old lady who just got pickpocketed, which triggers Loid to step up and help. From that moment, he learns that it’s okay to help others even if they can only say thank you in exchange.

Anya herself even acknowledges that her father is good at cooking. Whether it's because he spent years living alone, Loid has extraordinary cooking skills. He always cooks food for Anya and Yor when they are at home. You can see this in Episode 3 Spy x Family, where Loid serves his homemade cake when welcoming Yor to his house.

Even though he's the adoptive father of Anya, Loid still tries his best to educate and protect Anya.
