The reason Sharon Carter was able to hide in the city was because Madripoor in the MCU version was considered a place where criminals lived. Madripoor itself was created by taking inspiration from Singapore as the country's model. So that way, Madripoor experiences a geographical position in Southeast Asia, to be precise in the southern part of Singapore and around the Riau Islands and the Lingga Islands in Indonesia.

Inspired by Singapore, Madripoor has a red flag with a crescent moon symbol and a lion's head with a star above it. Even though it is in the Southeast Asian region, the majority of residents from Madripoor are immigrants. The language is not Malay or the language of other ASEAN countries, but instead they use English or French.

6. Divided into 2 Kinds of Regions

The country of Madripoor, which exists in Marvel, has actually been divided into two kinds of regions,  Hightown and Lowtown. In the Falcon and Winter Soldier series, it has been explained that Hightown is an area for the rich, while Lowtown is a place for the poor.
