As the third episode of Marvel What If comes out, the story becomes even more unpredictable as it depicts the death of numerous Avengers superheroes almost effortlessly by the hand of one invisible enemy. Surely, Marvel Studio is preparing some surprises for the future of Marvel What If…? and they really start it with a bang.

On this occasion, Dunia Games is about to explain the kind of bang it presents through these 10 facts about Marvel What If episode 3. Mind you, if you haven’t watched it already, this whole article is going to contain spoilers.

10. Nick Fury’s Original Speech

Who would’ve thought that Nick Fury is pulling an original and nationalist speech that easily evokes the audiences’ emotions to make them join his cause. Some of his signature punchlines like “There was an idea” are cut short by Black Widow a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff due to having enough of his repeated speech.

9. Iron Man 2 Parallel

Marvel What If episode 3 begins with Tony Stark enjoying some donuts on the rooftop of a donut-shaped cafe, a signature of Iron Man 2. Later on, Nick Fury discusses his nationalism vision and invites him to join the Avengers. Naturally, him telling Black Widow about someone with superpower and high-tech facilities gives away his desire to recruit Tony Stark.

8. Stranded Mjolnir

The episode also alludes to the first Thor movie that depicts the almighty hammer Mjolnir falling down the Earth the moment Thor is stripped of his superpower by Odin. This prompts Thor to reclaim Mjolnir again, although this time he’s unable to do it. Additionally, the Destroyer from the Thor movie makes an appearance in Marvel What If episode 3, although this time it’s led by Loki.

7. Tony Stark Dies

Tony Stark’s encounter with Nick Fury is no ordinary meeting, as Black Widow also injects something to Tony Stark. However, Marvel What If shows a completely shocking moment when Tony Stark dies because of a simple thing like that. With Tony Stark out of the picture, Nick Fury ultimately arrests Black Widow due to allegedly killing Tony Stark.

6. Thor Also Dies Easily

In addition Tony Stark, the Asgardian god Thor also dies by the hand of Hawkeye, almost effortlessly in fact due to him not having his godly superpower and only twice or thrice as powerful as an ordinary human. This comes as a shock because Hawkeye never misses or disobeys Nick Fury, which prompts his arrest due to allegedly killing an Avenger member-to-be.

5. Hawkeye Dies

The reason Hawkeye disobeys Nick Fury and misses his shot which kills Thor remains a mystery, despite being a trustworthy agent, which confuses Agent Coulson greatly. But the tragedy isn’t over yet, as the next scene depicts Hawkeye lying unconscious and dying in a cell with maximum security. This leads to Nick Fury concluding that he’s currently facing an invisible opponent.

4. Relic of Jotunheim

There are two relics featured in Marvel What If episode 3: Destroyer and Casket of Ancient Winters. Loki brings both of them as safeguards against the earthlings and to avenge Thor’s death. Speaking of the relics, Casket of Ancient Winters is a deadly relic that can freeze an entire planet and kill its inhabitants, turning Earth to Loki’s birthplace Jotunheim.

3. Hulk Dies A Tragic Death

Hulk is regarded as a powerful superhero that’s very difficult to die. One memorable scene from The Incredible Hulk that solidifies it is that time Bruce Banner is surrounded on a bridge at a college, until someone shoots him and he transforms into Hulk. But shortly after, Hulk suddenly grows very big and implodes almost immediately.

2. Black Widow Is Defeated and Dead

After the death of Tony Stark, Thor, Hawkeye and Hulk, Black Widow automatically becomes the last surviving member of the Avengers. She then embarks on an investigation by searching through the files in S.H.I.E.L.D until she finally finds an answer to the mystery, until an unknown opponent suddenly appears and defeats her. However, she sends a clue called Hope to Nick Fury shortly before her defeat, leading to him figuring out the answer and allying with Loki.

1. Hank Pym Becomes the New Yellow Jacket

It turns out the one behind the murders is Hank Pym, of all people. By becoming the new Yellow Jacket, he can shrink and murdered the Avengers very quickly. This leads to a confrontation with the last Avengers, Nick Fury, although the one he fights is actually not him but rather the trickster Loki. In the end, Hank Pym is imprisoned in Asgard.
