Marvel Studios is about to kick off Phase 4 with one of the most anticipated movies, Doctor Strange 2.

It’s been confirmed that the movie will feature a new superhero girl: America Chavez, which will be played by Xochitl Gomez.

1. Originated from a Different Dimension

America Chavez was first introduced in Vengeance by Joe Casey in July 2011. This character originated from another dimension called the Utopian Parallel. It is a dimension outside of time and space of the Multiverse, which is basically Marvel’s Themyscira since this dimension is only inhabited entirely by females.

In this universe, there’s no real perception of time, and it exists in the presence of Demiurge, the entity that created it. America Chavez originated from this universe before she was sent to earth.

2. The Sole Survivor

In the comic book, when America was 6 years old, the Utopian Parallel was threatened by destruction. A black hole appeared, pulling the Utopian Parallel in all directions until it crossed the Multiverse.

America Chavez became the sole survivor due to her power of Interdimensional Travel, which eventually saved her.

3. Interdimensional Travel

As we’ve previously mentioned, America’s most valuable ability is her power to travel between dimensions.

She gained this ability after absorbing the magical presence of Demiurge, the creator of the Utopian Parallel. Aside from that, she also has the ability of flight, superhuman speed, superhuman strength, and can project energy blasts.

4. Star-Shaped Portals

America Chavez’s powers have a unique characteristic, all of her abilities feature star patterns.

Be it when she punches an enemy, releases energy blasts, or breakthrough her interdimensional portals, all of them feature the star-shaped symbols.

5. A Member of the Young Avengers

Surely you’ve heard about the new Avengers that consists of teenage superheroes, the Young Avengers. America Chavez is known to be one of the members.

However, before joining Young Avengers, America Chavez was a member of another superhero team known as Teen Brigade. A team that was established to help the Hulk defend earth against the Metal Master. Therefore, America Chavez was already familiar with working in a team environment when she eventually joined Young Avengers.
