Power is one of the fan-favorite characters in Chainsaw Man. Power is a Blood Fiend/Devil who's gained popularity since her debut with her unique personality. She is one of the majin or demons who joins the Public Safety Devil Hunter Division 4 along with Denji. Power may be a bit brash, but she never hesitates to do anything for those she cares the most.
Some of you probably don't know much about this character yet. Aside from her unique personality and looks, it turns out that there are many interesting facts that you can find out about Power from Chainsaw Man. Here are some interesting facts about Power that any Chainsaw Man fan should know. Without further ado, let's get into it.
1. A Unique Kind of Fiend
As fans of the series know, majin is a term that refers to fiends that use humans' bodies as vessels in Chainsaw Man. Majin are not too different from devils in nature, as they are also wild and prey on other living things. But there are some rare cases, such as Majin who can still be controlled even though their mindset is no different from that of children, like Power. And because of this, Makima put her in the Devil Hunter's Special Division 4 alongside Aki and Denji.
2. The Meaning of the Name "Power"
If you notice, "Power" is the only non-Japanese name in this anime. It may seem like nothing at first glance, but Tatsuki Fujimoto later revealed that the name "Power" actually has a quite complex meaning. The name comes from the Christian angelic hierarchy. Power is the name of middle-order angels who have power over evil forces. They even prevent demons from committing crimes by suppressing their power. As in the anime, Power also pulls off a major rescue by restraining the main villain in the Public Safety Arc.
3. She Can Manipulate Blood
As a blood majin, Power has the ability to manipulate blood in battle. Power can even manipulate her blood into various weapons, such as spears or large hammers. Besides that, Power can also easily restore her energy just by consuming blood. Thanks to this blood transfusion ability, she's able to survive as she can even come back to life by sucking Denji's blood.
4. The Horns on Her Head
As a Blood Devil, Power has horns made of blood growing on her head. This symbolizes her evil side as well as her ability to make weapons out of blood. Her horns grow, especially after she drinks blood. In a chapter of the manga, you can see how Power's horns appear taller than normal after she consumes more blood than she actually needs.
5. She Has a Cat
An anime studio will often stick to the storyline and characters from the original manga. Power has a cat named Nyanko. However, in the English version of the manga, Nyanko is renamed to Meowy. Nyanko comes from the Japanese onomatopoeia for the cat sound (nyan). Power loves her pet cat so much.
6. She Has a Complete Devil Form
Power's full devil form is quite terrifying. Power's full devil form has only been shown once in the series so far. Since Makima is strong enough to force Power and Denji to go all out against her in battle. In her Blood Devil form, Power appears as a tall, four-armed humanoid creature with pale skin.
Her head is a red, triangular shape, has sharp teeth, and two round eyes with pupils that look like crosses. She also has longer horns and hair in this form. Her ribs are exposed, revealing a cavity full of innards down to her neck. Her arms are red from her hands to her elbows.
7. She Ate Pochita
If you follow the story, there is a time when Power returns to her original form as a true devil. However, she meets Pochita and is offered to eat his flesh so she can help save Denji from Makima, as a result, Power comes out of Denji's body in her Blood Devil form and agrees to the chainsaw demon's request to protect Denji. Not only has her strength increased, Power even manages to survive Makima's attacks thanks to the increased resistance of her mind.

8. The Inspiration for the Character
In an interview, Tatsuki Fujimoto once revealed that the inspiration for Power's personality came from two characters, namely Eric Cartman from South Park and Walter Sobchak from The Big Lebowski. Eric is very immature, short-tempered, and is a brat who only cares about himself, and this depicts Power's personality in this series.
Meanwhile, Walter Sobchak is a veteran of the Vietnam war, who is passive-aggressive. He is rather stubborn when it comes to whatever conflict he finds himself in. He often shows recklessness and overconfidence, just like Power.
9. She Suffers from PTSD
Despite Power's tremendous strengths, Power actually suffers from severe trauma from the Darkness Devil. The sheer horror from that primordial demon left Power traumatized. Power would even cry and refuse to be left alone even for a short time. During this episode, even Denji and Aki had a hard time taking care of Power.
10. She Almost Sold Denji
Although Denji and Power are close friends, Power had actually tried to sell Denji several times to the opponents she faced. The first one is when Power intentionally shoots Denji to give him to the Bat Devil in order to free Nyanko, who has been held hostage for a long time. Fortunately, Denji manages to fight and defeat the Bat Devil, thereby freeing Power and her cat.
The second time is when Power goes up against Makima, she even gives up Denji after being offered to be raised as a pet. But she eventually changes her mind as she remembers her memories with Denji, before freeing her best friend.
11. She May Have a Crush on Denji
Since they are often together, over time, Denji and Power develop a stronger bond between them. Denji is very concerned about Power, some fans even argue that Denji actually loves her as he is willing to do anything to take care of Power when she is sick. Even so, Denji doesn't feel anything special when caring for Power, perhaps because he sees Power as a little sister rather than a girlfriend.
However, there is a possibility that it is Power who actually has a crush on Denji. Since she has to accept the fact that Denji doesn't reciprocate her feelings, she calls Denji as her first favorite friend.
12. Her Name Comes from the Christian Hierarchy of Angels
As mentioned above, the name “Power” comes from the Christian hierarchy of Angels. Chainsaw Man has a lot of scriptural references as the story involves devils. So, it's understandable that the series also involves angels. The name "Power" comes from the hierarchical scope of the two heavenly orders. The angelic hierarchy is divided into three levels, namely heavenly councils, heavenly orders, and heavenly messengers.
The second scope consists of Dominion, Virtue, and Power, which is the origin of the name Power. While Dominion is likely a reference to Makima being a Control Devil, as she is known as the Devil of Domination.
13. Currently Only Has One Contract
In this series, almost every major character has at least one contract. Power is a Blood Fiend, and doesn't need to rely on other devils to help her. But at the end of the story arc with Makima, Power finally makes her first contract. Power makes a contract with Denji, and is willing to sacrifice herself and give her life for Denji in order to defeat Makima.
