1. The Characters were Inspired by Greek and Roman Gods

The names of the main characters Yuno, Yukiteru and Minene are names that are related to Roman Mythology. Yukiteru's name derived from the god Jupiter, Yuno is based on the name Juno, the goddess who protects and advises the country, and Minene is a variation of Minerva, who's one of the main goddesses worshiped by the Romans. These three Roman Gods and Goddesses are the most powerful of all the Gods. Besides that, in Mirai Nikki anime, the three characters eventually become Gods themselves.

The game puts you closer to the characters. You will play the role of a young girl who has a video diary and become the 13th player in the deadly survival game.

3. An Inappropriate Show For Children

Despite its popularity, this anime has its own dark side. Mirai Nikki anime is not a kid-friendly watch. This is because the anime contains many scenes of violence and brutality, making it an inappropriate show for children, especially without parental supervision. 4. The Theme Song is Sung by the Voice Actors

6. The Inspiration for Minene Uryuu's Character Design

The character design of Minene Uryuu was actually inspired by Revy in the Black Lagoon anime, a violent action anime. Both of them have a similar appearance, even their personalities are quite similar. The backstory of both characters are also quite tragic.

7. Kamen Rider and Super Sentai Parodies in the Anime

Mirai Nikki, also known as Future Diary, is written and illustrated by Sakae Esuno. With the total of 12 volumes of manga published in Japan, only 10 were published in America. This series received an anime adaptation, with 26 episodes in its first season, with 3 volumes of side stories of the manga. 

9. Second Season is Yet to Be Confirmed

10. The Series Has an OVA: Mirai Nikki: Redial

Although the second season is yet to be confirmed, Mirai Nikki has released a special OVA episode of the anime. Mirai Nikki: Redial is a 25-minute-long animation that serves as the closing act of the Mirai Nikki series. This OVA was first announced in 2012 and released in early April 2013. The story follows another world that is much more joyous and more stable than Mirai Nikki's original world.
