In One Piece, Yonkou is one fo the major powers that are not easy to be taken down. Even the Marines aren’t brave (and foolish) enough to mess with them. Yonkou’s level is above the Shichibukai and the Marines, including the Admirals. Here are a few moments that show it!

1. Garp and Sengoku vs Shiki

After the death of Roger, Shiki got enraged and attacked the Marineford alone, destroyed half of the fortress in the process. For Shiki, Roger was his main goal to take the Pirate King title. To stop his rampage, the Marines sent two of their best fighters, Garp and Sengoku. 

Garp and Sengoku managed to beat Shiki, but the Marines lost several men. Added with Garp or Sengoku’s power alone was insufficient to beat Shiki who at that time still a Yonkou. This showed that the Marines’ Admiral’s strength level still below Yonkou’s.

2. Battle of Marineford

Yonkou’s fighting prowess is far greater than the other pirates’. One Yonkou even can defeat a group of Marine soldiers and a Shichibukai, as seen on the Battle of Marineford. In that battle, Admiral Aokiji and Kizaru once fought Shirohige’s commander, Marco. 

Marco fought Kizaru and ended in a draw. Then the only Admiral who fought against Shirohige was Akainu. Shirohige received a severe wound after getting stabbed by Squard, but still powerful enough to beat Akainu. If under that condition Akainu was beaten, then how things will turn out if Shirohige fights him on his prime? Probably he could fight against three Admirals at once.

3. Rayleigh vs Kizaru

Rayleigh probably still under Yonkou’s level, even though his fighting prowess is amazing. In S

Shabaody, he fought against Kizaru and managed to wound him. Rayleigh managed to do it at his old age, while Kizaru, on the other hand, still on his prime. If this battle occurred ten years in the past, Kizaru would surely lose.

If Kizaru’s power is on Yonkou’s level, surely Rayleigh will lose and be captured. In reality, Kizaru instead asking for help and certain preparations to capture Rayleigh. Garp himself once said that it requires certain preparation to fight Rayleigh, or the Marines will lose several men.

4. Doflamingo’s Power

Doflamingo is an ex-Shichibukai member and a fearsome pirate. He doesn’t scared of any pirates but Yonkou. After he knew the Smile Factory was destroyed, Doflamingo was scared that Kaido will come after him.

On the other hand, Doflamingo dares to fight Fujitora who at that time tasked to capture the Straw Hat Pirates. Doflamingo’s fear also showed a large power gap between Admirals and Yonkou. When at Impel Down, Doflamingo knew that Kaido sent a contract killer to kill him and he could only surrender, offer everything to Magellan and guard him.
