Vista is the former 5th division commander of the Whitebeard Pirates, the swordsman division of the pirate group. In the Marineford Arc, Vista showed his prowess and managed to hold off the Strongest Swordsman in the World, Dracule Mihawk. This is why Vista didn’t show the slightest fear when he faced Mihawk. It’s been confirmed that Vista is a user of Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki. But there’s something interesting that you might have missed during the duel between Vista and Mihawk in the Battle of Marineford.

Before the Timeskip, Oda said that Haki had not been shown in black. If Vista could match Mihawk, there’s a chance that he had imbued his swords with Haki, just like Zoro did when he fought Pica. This is why Vista didn’t seem in any difficulty when fighting against the Strongest Swordsman in the World.

Even Mihawk himself acknowledges Vista’s ability as a swordsman who managed to match him. Until now, Vista has not been seen since his defeat to Blackbeard Pirates. If only Vista also came to Wano aside from Marco, he could have been a great help in the fight against the Kaido’s commanders.
