In October 2022, the very popular Bleach anime continues with the Thousand Year Blood Wars arc. In addition to Naruto and One Piece, one of the "Big Three" classic Shonen Jump series is the hit manga and anime series by Tite Kubo entitled Bleach, in which a high school student named Ichigo Kurosaki gains the power of a Soul Reaper and fights all evil forces. Ichigo is also not alone because he struggles with his friends, namely Chad, Uryu, Orihime, and Rukia who are always by Ichigo's side to help. Orihime Inoue is the most loyal and reliable friend of all.

Orihime is not a fighter, she is a healer. At times, Orihime is a supporting character in one arc, and in another arc of the story, Orihime is the star. Although there are many fans of the Bleach manga who prefer Ichigo Kurosaki to be with Rukia Kuchiki, there are still many people who prefer this bright orange-haired girl. Curious about Orihime Inoue who is the female protagonist of Bleach who will later become Ichigo's wife? Let's learn about Orihime Inoue here!

1. Her Imagination is Very Unique with Various Thoughts that Sometimes Sound Weird

Orihime Inoue often thinks of unique things in her mind. She really likes imagining all sorts of very funny things. She once showed Tatsuki a picture of herself as a working adult, or rather the picture was actually a weird robotic version of herself!

On another occasion, when Yoruichi who was in the form of a cat was offering to introduce Ichigo's group to a friend named Kukaku, Orihime even tried to guess what kind of cat Kukaku was, even guessing that Kukaku was a Dalmation which was clearly not a cat but a kind of dog. Chad then points out to Orihime that Kukaku doesn't necessarily have a cat transformation just because she is Yoruichi's friend.

2. She Likes Everything Colorful

Orihime Inoue has several fairy spirits that are part of her abilities. The fairy spirits are small creatures that appear in colorful costumes. All of these fairy spirits do seem to match Orihime's colorful personality, and viewers of the Bleach series are easy to see that Orihime's character appreciates a colorful visual display.

She also likes colorful clothes, such as floral dresses, and she finds Las Noches quite boring because they look plain and rarely have any colors on display. The funny thing is that Orihime then likes her black and white clothes which remind her of her Arrancar prison clothes.

3. She Doesn't Like To Burden Others

Whenever Orihime Inoue can heal someone and help them survive, Orihime always needs help for herself too, and she seems to feel very guilty about it. Orihime's older brother, Sora, used to be very responsible for taking care of her, and with the departure of her brother, Orihime now has to finally be independent.

When Grimmjow is defeated, Ichigo takes Orihime away, and she dislikes the thought of how heavy she is. And when Grimmjow beats Orihime's tormentors, named Loly and Menoly, Orihime is surprised, why someone else should try to help her. Although Grimmjow was actually honored to do so.

4. She is a Shy Girl

Orihime Inoue feels comfortable when she is with her best friend Tatsuki, and she also gets along well with Ichigo and Chad. But for more than a few moments, Orihime gets acquainted with some new people during Bleach and because of her sensitive nature, Orihime often becomes very shy.

She is overwhelmed when the soft-hearted giant Hachigen Ushoda repairs her spirit fairy. She also feels quite embarrassed when Ichigo begins to carry her on his shoulders in an attempt to escape.

5. Orihime's background in the manga and anime versions is different

Orihime Inoue's background is not too mysterious as it is quickly revealed. It didn't take long for Bleach to cover Orihime's backstory, but some fans may have seen a different version of Orihime's backstory. In one of the backstory, Orihime and her brother named Sora once lived alone. They are far from their parents.

In the manga, Orihime's background is shown with a darker story, due to having a father who became an alcoholic and a mother who was cruel, that's why Sora ran away from home and took Orihime away with him. In the anime, Orihime and her siblings were left alone, without mentioning what their parents had done to them.

6. He Can Embody “Hearts”

In Bleach, the story focuses on the concept of many people sharing one heart. We see that in Rukia and Kaien, and it motivates Rukia to gather her remaining strength and defeat Aaroniero despite the odds.

Orihime Inoue did this too, and she was 100% sure that her friends would save her and be able to escape alive because her heart was with them. It was an unbreakable bond in her opinion, and Orihime stuck to the idea even when the fearsome and powerful Ulquiorra was ridiculing her. And in the end, Ulquiorra was desperate to see a "heart" for himself, and he disappeared instead.

7. She Can Spread The Joy

Orihime Inoue can not only heal a person's body when that person is injured, but she can also restore their spirit. Orihime wasn't the type to ignore her friends who were in need of help or anyone in need for that matter. Toward the end of Soul Society, she happily brings Rukia the new dress Uryu made for her, and she looks forward to Rukia's reaction.

Later, when Rangiku was locked up in Orihime's house before the battle with the Arrancar, Orihime brought out the ice cream and the two girls declared happily how delicious the ice cream was. The two of them chatted, laughed, and played happily into the night.

8. Her Mood Can Affect Her Strength

Orihime's Shun-Shun Rikka power can do three things, namely create barriers, heal people, and launch attacks even though she rarely attacks anyone. Its power has tremendous potential, as Aizen realizes, but Orihime doesn't always realize it.

Orihime Inoue's six fairies are a representation of her power, which is connected to her own mind. If she is in a good mood and feels confident, she can become more powerful. But if she is affected by doubt, fear, or despair, her strength weakens.

9. Her Injury Scene was Censored in the Anime

Orihime Inoue is not as strong as Rukia, Ichigo or Renji, and if a bad person attacks her, Orihime is immediately in trouble. Even Acidwire, the hollow version of Sora Inoue's spirit, can really hurt Orihime. Acidwire is a low-grade hollow.

The manga has more R-rated content despite being a shonen series, and Orihime is often seriously injured or has some of her clothes ripped in the manga. But the anime is not as sadistic as that, so it can also be shown on TV. Some of the saddest moments of Orihime's injured scenes are completely censored.

10. Her Strength Comes From Her Two Hairpins

Orihime Inoue doesn't have a zanpakuto, but her power comes from her two hairpins. Sora had once given the hairpin to her, and once her powers were awakened, she could manifest spirit from the hairpin with verbal commands.

The two hairpins, each shaped like a six-sided snowflake, were extremely fragile, and Orihime was not allowed to let anyone touch them. When Tesla's fraccion Nnoitra caught her, she threatened to break the hairpin. But Orihime tries to do everything to prevent it because it is a serious threat.
