Smoker is a Marine who always chases Luffy at the beginning of the story. Right now, Smoker seems to have stopped chasing Luffy for some reason. This time, Dunia Games would like to discuss the facts of Smoker in One Piece. Take a look at the list below!

1. The First Logia User to be Introduced

There are three types of devil fruits in One Piece. The first Paramecia user seen in the story is the main protagonist, Luffy. Then, the first Zoan user shown was Dalton in the Drum Kingdom. Meanwhile, the first Logia user to be introduced was Smoker in Loguetown.

Smoker ate the Moku Moku no Mi which makes him smoke, hence his name. Smoker can generate and manipulate smoke according to their will. As a Logia user, of course, physical attacks can't hit him, unless it's coated with Busoshoku Haki.

2. The First Marine to Have a Devil Fruit Abilities

There are many devil fruit eaters among the Marines, such as the Admirals. Of them all, Smoker is the first Marine who is described as having a devil fruit ability. Before that, only pirates were described as having devil fruit abilities.

3. His Birthday

Smoker is nicknamed "The White Hunter". Whether this is just a coincidence or intentional, but he has the same birthday as "White Day", which is March 14. In Japan, White Day is a holiday and is celebrated as a day of reciprocating love.

4. His Attempt to Catch Luffy Always Thwarted

5. Voiced by the Narrator

Smoker was first voiced by Ginza Matsuo until he died on August 25, 2001. If you pay attention after that Smoker's voice changed. Starting in episode 94, Smoker received a new voice actor. Interestingly, his new voice actor turns out to be the narrator of the series, Mahito Oba

6. A Marine with the Most Presence

Usually, a strong Marine only appears if Luffy has caused big trouble like Kizaru in Sabaody, Fujitora in Dressrosa, or Ryokugyu in Wano. We don't often see their appearance, except for Smoker who appears in several arcs.

First, Smoker was seen in the Loguetown arc. Not giving up, Smoker chased Luffy to Arabasta, then to Marineford, and later Punk Hazard. Smoker always chased Luffy from the Grand Line to the New World. That's why Smoker is the Marine with the most appearance in the story.

7. The First Biker in the Story

In the One Piece era which is set in around 1522, it seems that there is not much transportation such as motorbikes, even though there is magical transportation such as sea trains or modified ships. Long before Franky showed himself modified into a motorcycle, Smoker first showed to be a biker.

In Loguetown, Smoker is seen riding a three-wheeled motorcycle powered by his smoke.

8. Use Seastones as His Weapon

Sea stone is an object that serves to weaken the power of the user of the devil fruit ability. The first character in One Piece to use sea stones is Crocodile. He made a prison made of sea stone to confine Luffy and Smoker.

But the first to use it as a weapon was actually Smoker. At Marineford, Smoker's sword weakens Luffy. Smoker uses a blunt sword because the tip is coated with sea stone.

9. Animation Error

Toei Animation has shown some animation errors in a few episodes, and one of them is in episode 488, precisely when Smoker pointed his sword at Boa Hancock. In the previous episode, Hancock had broken Smoker's sword because it threatened Luffy.

10. Became a Hero in Arabasta Arc

As we know, Luffy and his friends have defeated Crocodile and other Baroque Works members in Arabasta. But the World Government covered up this fact until the news finally stated that it was Smoker who had defeated Crocodile. Smoker himself did not like and rejected the lie.

Interestingly, even so, Luffy's bounty increased to 100 million Belly for defeating Crocodile. Do people still believe that Smoker was the one who defeated Crocodile?
