Garuda di Dadaku Animated Movie 2026: A New Chapter of Football Spirit
The Indonesian animation industry is gearing up for a milestone with the release of the Garuda di Dadaku animated movie in 2026. More than just entertainment, this project carries the spirit of football, hard work, and inspiration for the younger generation.
Origins and Background
The animated film continues the legacy of the Garuda di Dadaku franchise, which started as a live-action movie in 2009, followed by a sequel in 2011 and a TV series in 2014–2015. This time, the beloved story takes on a fresh form through 3D animation combined with fantasy elements.
Core values like perseverance, teamwork, and brotherhood remain central to the story, but the new format allows them to be delivered in a more creative and dynamic way.
Production Team and Collaborations
The project is produced by BASE Entertainment in collaboration with KAWI Animation, supported by Springboard, AHHA Korpora (founded by Atta Halilintar), Dasun Pictures, Robot Playground Media, and PK Films.
The movie is directed by Ronny Gani, an Indonesian animator with an impressive Hollywood track record, including The Avengers, The Mandalorian, Aquaman, Ready Player One, Transformers: Age of Extinction, and Pacific Rim.
Original creators Shanty Harmayn and Salman Aristo are also involved to ensure continuity and quality.
Storyline: The Journey of Putra
The story follows Putra, a 14-year-old boy who dreams of becoming a great football player. Inspired by his idol, whose poster hangs on his bedroom wall, Putra starts his journey with determination.
The teaser shows emotional moments of his first day at junior high school, football team trials, and personal struggles as he relies on an inhaler for his health.
Despite his shortcomings, Putra’s never-give-up attitude sets him apart. Unlike the live-action films, the animated version introduces fantasy elements, making Putra’s adventure more magical and expansive.
Visuals and Animation Technology
This is a full-length 3D animated film, developed with modern technology to create dynamic, vibrant, and visually appealing scenes. The ambition is clear: to make a local animated movie that can compete on the international stage.
Star-Studded Voice Cast
The film features a strong lineup of Indonesian celebrity voice actors, including:

Hopes and Impact
Scheduled to hit theaters in 2026, the Garuda di Dadaku animated movie is expected to become a landmark in Indonesian animation. It blends national pride, local storytelling, and world-class production quality.
