The official website for the anime film adaptation of Shinichi Ishizuka's Blue Giant manga revealed on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, that the Blue Giant film will be released in Japan on February 17, 2023. The film was originally scheduled to premiere this year. The site also revealed the latest key visual and the film's staff line-up.

Yuzuru Tachikawa (Death Parade, Mob Psycho 100, Deca-Dence) is directing the film at studio NUT. NUMBER 8, Blue Giant manga editor and story director for Blue Giant Supreme manga, is writing the screenplay. TOHO Animation will distribute the film.

Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the 10 volumes of Shinichi Ishizuka's Blue Giant manga series as five omnibus volumes. Ishizuka (Gaku - Minna no Yama) serialized the manga in Big Comic magazine in May 2013, and ended it in August 2016. The Jazz-themed manga was nominated for an eighth Manga Taisho Awards in 2015, as well as a ninth Manga Taisho Awards in 2015. 2016.
