The South Korean actor whose real name is Lee Dong Seok, was born on 1 March 1971 and is of Korean-American descent. Ma Dong Seok began his acting career in 2005 in the movie Heaven's Soldiers, yet his popularity soared after he starred in Train To Busan (2016). Aside from these movies, Ma Dong Seok has played in numerous movies in which he gave great performances and attracted many viewers. In order to become a good person, he lives an honest life as a seafood distributor. One day, he comes face to face with a notorious gangster who kidnapped his wife. So, Dong Chul unites with his best friend and criminal investigator, to search for clues to find Dong Chul's wife.
5. Train To Busan (2016)
It's a movie that became a worldwide hit in the international market. This movie also managed to break the record as the first Korean film to have more than 10 million viewers. Train to Busan follows the incident on a train en route to Busan after a zombie attack breaks and threatens the life of all the people aboard. Ma Dong Seok plays Sang Hwa, an ordinary worker who is on the train with his pregnant wife. He plays a key role in this movie, which helped raise his name into a world-renowned actor.

It tells the story of Jin Il and Ga Young, two teenagers who ran away from home. They live together with other runaway teenagers as a family. When they have no money, Ga Young has to lure a middle-aged man named Hyung Suk (Ma Dong Seok). But Ga Young fails to seduce Hyung Suk's heart and gets held hostage by Hyung Suk for a ransom.

Unlike the previous action films, this one is a comedy-drama film that is an adaptation of a Webtoon “Shidong”, which literally means 'to start' (a vehicle). It follows Taek Il, a rebellious teenager who drops out of school and spends his days hanging out with his friend, Sang Pil. One day, Taek Il left his house to go to Gunsan, North Jeolla. He works part-time as a food delivery person at a Chinese restaurant. There, he meets a mysterious cook named Geo Seok, played by Ma Dong Seok. Taek Il's life begins to change after he gets a job at the restaurant.
10. The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil (2019)
This action and thriller genre film is based on a true story that involves the three main characters: a serial killer, a gangster who almost fell victim to the serial killer, and a police officer who tries to catch the serial killer. The cop then decides to team up with the gangsters to catch the killer. But they face challenges from their respective enemies at work. Ma Dong Seok plays a gangster named Jang Dong Soo in this film.
11. The Villagers (2018)
It's a thriller drama with a dash of action that airs on November 7, 2018. Ma Dong Seok plays Yeok Gi Cheol, a teacher at a boxing school who recently quit his job. Then he moved to a somewhat remote village as a counseling teacher at an all-girls high school. He then meets Yoo Jin, one of the students, who deals with monthly tuition debt, which leads to him learning about one of his students who recently disappeared. 14. Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time (2012)
Set in the 1990s, this movie takes place when the new government declares war on organized crime. Tells the story of Ik Hyun, a corrupt businessman who extorts other businessmen who want to send goods via containers at the Busan port. Ma Dong Seok here plays Mr. Kim, Ik Hyun's brother-in-law.
15. The Roundup (2022)
