However, today’s modern world has debunked the existence of such creatures. But if you want to find movies that show the experience of pitting human ingenuity against mysterious giant creatures like in Monster Hunter, here is a list of 14 films that you can watch with friends.
1. Monsters (2010)
Dangerous space organisms suddenly spread across the Americas after a NASA satellite crashed in Mexico. The US and Mexican troops are unable to stop them while a journalist named Andrew Kaulder (Scoot McNairy) is tasked with finding his boss's daughter, Samantha Wynden, who is trapped in Mexico and was told to her back to the US. This is the first time that director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Rogue One) has worked on a feature film.
2. Monsters: Dark Continent
10 years after the events of Monsters, four US soldiers; Michael, Frankie, Inkelaar, and Williams; must deal with the reappearance of aliens and rebel groups in the Middle East.

Set in the aftermath of the Earth's destruction from a meteor that caused animals to mutate into monsters, a young man named Joel Dawson is separated from his girlfriend, Aimee, when their family are evacuating from the city of Fairfield, California. Seven years later, Joel, who now lives alone in a settlement full of people with their respective partners, is determined to find Aimee again.

5. Hellboy (2004)
Based on the comic series of the same name, in this movie directed by Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim) an infant demon was found and adopted by the Allied forces during World War II. 60 years later, the-now named Hellboy (Ron Perlman) works as a member of the BPRD monster hunter organization and must face the shaman Gregori Rasputin who wants to revive the evil god Ogdru Jahad.
6. Hellboy II: The Golden Army
Continuing the previous movie, BPRD, who has difficulty dealing with Hellboy's reckless behavior, summons an ectoplasmic medium from Germany, Johann Krauss, as the new leader of his team. They then meet Nuala, the daughter of an elf king who ran away from her cruel brother who wants to rule the world with the Golden Army, Nuada.

7. Hellboy (2016)
A reboot of the previous Hellboy films now being directed by Neil Marshall (Dog Soldiers) and starring David Harbor (Dexter Tolliver, Suicide Squad). This 2016 movie recounts the beginning of Hellboy as a member of the BPRD and how he is destined to destroy the human world as the demon Anung un Rama.
8. Spectral
When American troops operating in the Republic of Moldova to neutralize a rebel movement detected an anomaly through their electromagnetic goggles, they were slaughtered by the ghost-like anomaly. DARPA scientist Dr. Mark Clyne, played by James Badge Dale (Eric Savin, Iron Man 3) is then called to deal with the mysterious force the US army now has to face.
9. The Host
As a result of the US military dumping hazardous substances into the Han River in South Korea, a monster appears and terrorizes local residents. The daughter of a food stall owner Park Gang-du (Parasite) is dragged into the river by the monster and Park along with his other family members have to try to save her.
10. Beowulf
This 3D computer graphics feature film made to be as realistic as possible adapted the story of the ancient English poem of the same name. In the year 507, the legendary knight Beowulf (Ray Winstone) and his loyal soldiers travel to Denmark to face King Hrothgar (Anthony Hopkins). The king summons them to kill Grendel (Angelina Jolie), a cunning creature with terrible powers who has killed many of his troopers.
11. The Hobbit
The prequel to The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Unlike LotR which focuses more on war and colossal battles, The Hobbit tells a relatively simple journey of a hobbit Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen), and 12 dwarves to defeat the dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) and regain control of the dwarf castle in the The Lonely Mountains. Of course along the way they faced various kinds of monsters before they could meet Smaug.
12. Jack the Giant Slayer
An adaptation of the old English tales Jack the Giant Killer and Jack and the Beanstalk. This film tells the story of Jack (Nicholas Hoult), a farm boy, who came into conflict with the giants after getting a mysterious bean seed.
13. Dog Soldiers
The first film directed by Neil Marshall. Six British soldiers are deployed to the Scottish Highlands to conduct training with SAS troops. But instead they found the mangled bodies of their training partners. They and a lone survivor, the injured Captain Ryan, must try to save themselves when a mysterious creature starts chasing them.

A remake of the classic Hollywood film of the same name, which was originally an adaptation of the Greek myth about a hero named Perseus. As a demi-god, Perseus, son of Zeus, must fight the forces of the underworld in order to stop their attempts to conquer the lands of gods and Earth.

And finally, of course, is the Monster Hunter adaptation from the infamous director Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil). Like an isekai anime, US army Ranger captain Natalie Artemis (Milla Jovovich) enters a portal that takes her to the world of Monster Hunter and must survive against the monsters in this new world.
