When he opens a doll shop to start a new life, his best friend actually imports illegal drugs into the dolls he sells. When Cho learns that his best friend betrays him, he must be ready to fight him. Meanwhile, his best friend feels that his business has been disrupted by Cho, and intends to kill him.

2. Pray for Death (1985)

This film tells the story of Akira Saito, a businessman who lives in Tokyo, Japan with his wife, Aiko and their children, Takeshi and Tomoya. The family gets the opportunity to move to the United States. and as they arrive in the US, the Saito family runs a restaurant. Unbeknownst to them, there is a group of corrupt cops who store stolen goods in the back room of their restaurant, namely a Van Atta necklace, which is apparently wanted by a local syndicate. This leads the syndicates to go after the previous owner of the restaurant, before chasing Saito too. The syndicate also kidnaps one of his children. This is where Akira jumps into action to save his son from the criminal gang.

3. American Ninja (1985)

Despite the low rating, American Ninja is deemed to be one of the pioneers of ninja films in America, which means you must watch this film if you are into ninja movies. The story focuses on Joe Armstrong, a man who is conscripted into the US Army by a judge. While on duty to escort a convoy of weapons, the US army is attacked by rebels, which causes Joe to end up fighting the Black Star Order ninja. But, since he's the only survivor, he's accused of desertion. To clear his name of the accusation, Joe infiltrates the rebels' base and rescues his boss' daughter.

4. Shinobi: Heart Under Blade (2005)

The 2005-released movie tells the story of two ninja clans, the Koga clan and the Iga clan, who have been mortal enemies for hundreds of years. Problems arise when the two clan leaders, Oburu Iga and Gennosuke Koga, fall in love with each other and decide to get married. Things get more complicated when the Shogun holds a fight between the two ninja clans, with the excuse of maintaining the continuity of the clan. However, the Shogun actually has intentions to destroy both clans. The battle between these two ninja clans is inevitable. Although it's not necessarily a new movie, this film boasts stunning visual effects.

5. Goemon (2009)

This film is an adaptation of a Japanese legend. The film focuses on the character Goemon Ishikawa, who leaves his clan of warriors after the leader is killed and uses his skills as a thief to help the poor. Shortly after he learns the identity of the killer of his late leader, Hideyoshi, who betrayed his clan, Goemon joins forces with his loyal friend, Saizo, and starts a bloody revenge plan against the traitor who killed his leader.

6. Ninja (2009)

This movie follows the story of Casey, an American who studies ninjutsu in Japan. His teacher possesses ninja armor and legendary weapons, which he says would be given to a worthy person. A student named Masazuka gets concerned that the armor and weapons would fall to Casey. So, Masazuka attacks Casey, who defends himself by retaliating. As a result, Masazuka gets exiled, becomes a murderer, and joins a criminal group called The Ring. After that, the teacher tells Casey and his daughter to bring the armor to America. But Masazuka manages to follow him and makes things complicated for Casey. What will Casey do next?

7. Kamui Gaiden (2009)

The 2009-released movie tells the story of a ninja assassin who decides to get out of a criminal organization that has turned him into a killing machine. Kamui tries to live a normal life like ordinary people after his escape. But he continues to be targeted by a member of the criminal organization who wants his death in order to maintain the confidentiality of their organization. When Kamui hides in a remote fishing village, the ninjas are hunting him down. This forces Kamui to fight back. Will Kamui succeed in protecting the villagers from this ruthless killer?

8. Ninja Assassin (2009)

This popular film, which stars the renowned actor Rain, was a hit at the time. It follows the story of a murderous clan led by Ozunu. It's a clan that is infamous for being ruthless towards its target. This clan of assassins has been considered a myth for hundreds of years, but they actually exist in the midst of society. Rain plays Raizo, one of Ozunu's ninja assassins. Raizo was kidnapped when he was a child and trained for years by Ozunu to become a skilled assassin. Things start to get messy when Ozunu kills Raizo's best friend. This infuriates him so he intends to take revenge on his best friend.

9. Alien vs Ninja (2010)

One day a giant comet crashes into a forest. A group of ninjas from the Iga clan led by Yamata heads out to check the object. The ninjas end up being ambushed from a mysterious creature that came out of the object. The creature, known as an alien, forces the Iga ninjas to scatter. Yamata and his troops seek revenge on the murderous creature. How will the ninjas put an end to this terrible terror of extraterrestrial being?

10. Ninja: Shadow of a Tear (2013)

Directed by Isaac Florentine, this film is a sequel to the 2009 film Ninja: Ninja: Shadow of a Tear, and was officially premiered in 2013. Slightly different from other ninja films, in which the main actor is usually Asian, this film features an American actor as the main character, Scott Adkins. This film tells the story of Casey's revenge on his pregnant wife who was killed by an unknown person. Casey seeks for the killer to avenge his wife.

11. The Ninja War of Torakage (2015)

The movie follows Torakage, a former ninja who tries to live in peace with his family during the Sengoku era. But problems start to arise when his child gets kidnapped. Torakage has to resort to his skillset to track down and rescue his son. Torakage decides to fight the ninjas involved in the kidnapping of his son. Watch the exciting action scenes as Torakage eradicates his enemies in this movie.

12. Mumon: The Land of Stealth (2017)

Mumon is a feared ninja. He has a strong attitude as a ninja, but his attitude is in stark contrast to his daily life. Mumon is actually a person who prefers to lay around and spoil his wife happily by giving her gifts. One day, a terrible thing happens to Mumon. He killed a fugitive that led to him sparking an inter-regional conflict. The unique plot and exciting action scenes make Mumon a movie that you need to watch.

13. Neko Ninja (2017)

This ninja film has a unique and entertaining plot. Tells the story of a ninja named Kagerota, who has just been assigned to complete his first mission. He was born into a ninja family, even his father was known as the famous red-nosed ninja before his disappearance when Kagerota was 10 years old. As he's about to complete his mission, Kagerota gets distracted by a red-nosed cat that reminds him of his father. Since then, he always has the cat with him in his adventures. The light story has numerous comedic scenes, making this ninja movie an entertaining one.

14. Snake Eyes: GI Joe Origins (2021)

This film is a spin-off of the GI Joe series and certainly not to be missed by fans. This film focuses on Snake Eyes' origin story as an agent trained by a ninja clan, played by Henry Golding. Snake Eyes, a lone fighter who previously managed to save the life of the heir of an ancient clan named Arashikage, is known as a ninja who brought world peace for 600 years. After that, Snake Eyes is invited to Japan to live with the Arashikage clan, but it turns out that he has a big secret in his past. This secret slowly brings an impact on the people around him. This film is quite interesting as it also features an Indonesian actor.

15. Mortal Kombat (2021)

The story follows Cole Young, a ninja fighter who turns out to be a descendant of the legendary ninja Shirai Ryu, named Hanzo aka Scorpion. This film, directed by Simon McQuoid, tells the story of Cole Young, who is a Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fighter who fights to make a living. He was born with a dragon-shaped mark burned on his chest, which indicates that he is a descendant of a powerful figure. Cole gets told by Sonya that the mark is found on people who take part in a fighting tournament called the Mortal Kombat. From then on, Cole starst to learn about the Mortal Kombat and get ready to partake in the tournament.
