The first series on this list is a two season-long crime/thriller drama released in 2017. It tells the story of two FBI agents, Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany, whose job is to analyze the profiles of criminals and serial killers alike. They are assigned to interview serial killers in prison to understand their mindset, in hopes of getting clues to solving ongoing and future cases. This series invites you to see how the detectives solve many cases, using psychological, anthropological, and sociological methods to reveal the motives of each serial killer.
2. Bordertown
Bordertown is a Finnish detective series that tells of gripping cases set in Scandinavia. The series follows a great detective who has just moved to a small town to regain his focus and spend more time with his family. However, as soon as he arrives, he stumbles upon various strange murder cases that require his experience to be solved.
3. Collateral
It's a mini series with only four episodes. The story focuses on a detective named Kip Glaspie, who is tasked with investigating the murder of a pizza delivery man who was shot dead in suburban London. This case turns out to be related and correlated with a complicated conspiracy involving drug dealers, smugglers, and spies. Throughout the series, you will be taken to explore different characters who are all connected to the murder case. 4. The Valhalla Murders
The 2019-released thriller/mystery series is set in 1940s Iceland. The story is inspired by true events that tell of a mysterious murder committed by a person, where all the victims were brutally killed in several locations across Iceland. The murder cases are not related to each other, but the patterns are always similar as it is carried out by a serial killer who always leaves slashes in both of his victims' eyes. Because of this incident, the police send a veteran detective named Kata to the crime scene to investigate the case.
5. Signal
This series tells the story of a female detective named Cha Soo Hyun, who is also the first female police officer in the Special Task Force and the leader of a case team in Seoul. This South Korean series is based on various real-life crime incidents in Korea, including the Hwaseong serial murder. The series follows a group of detectives in 1989, who are chasing down a criminal at large, but they can communicate with other detectives in 2015. Through a walkie talkie, the detective in 1989 can communicate with two detectives in 2015 to solve a case.

6. Inspector Koo
This series tells the story of Koo Kyung Yi, a former police detective who finally quit her job after his husband committed suicide five years ago. Her husband's demise disrupts Koo Kyung Yi's life, she gets addicted to alcohol and online games, and refuses to socialize. One day, she decides to join as a paid inspector of an insurance company where her best friend and former police junior named Na Jae Hui works. Na Jae Hui asks Koo Kyung Yi to uncover cases of fake insurance claims and forms a team with two other people. However, the case ultimately leads to a series of murder cases committed by a girl she had met in the past.

This series tells the story of an investigation into a murder case where one of the pieces of evidence found was a small doll made of matchsticks. The case begins when a woman's body was found in a playground on the outskirts of Copenhagen, Denmark. The woman was brutally killed as one of her arms severed. The only mysterious trace left behind is a small doll made of chestnuts and tree branches. But this isn't the only case, but there are several subsequent murder cases that also share the same pattern.
8. Flower of Evil
Flower of Evil tells the story of a female detective named Cha Ji Won, who disguises herself as a civilian. Ji Won's husband, Baek Hee Sung, is also a detective. They seem like a harmonious and perfect family with a beautiful daughter. But one day, it's revealed that Hee Sung actually suffers a mental illness known as alexithymia that makes him have difficulty conveying his emotions. When Ji Won conducts an investigation, she finds strong evidence involving Hee Sung in a murder case with revenge motives.
9. Giri/Haji
It tells the story of a detective based in Tokyo, named Kenzo Mori, who has to travel to London to find his missing -- and presumably dead brother -- Yuto. The deeper he searches for his brother, the bigger the problem he faces, because it turns out that his brother was involved in the murder of the nephew of a Yakuza member. Kenzo inevitably has to deal with the dangerous Yakuza.
10. Unbelievable
This series is based on true stories about heinous crimes and injustices that befell victims of the wrongdoing of corrupt law enforcement. The story begins when a young woman named Marie gets accused of lying about her testimony in a rape case. Two female detectives named Karen Duvall and Grace Rasmussen from two different police stations are investigating a serial rapist with a modus operandi similar to that of Marie's alleged rapist. The two of them are not aware that the perpetrator they are investigating is the same person who had committed the same crime prior in another city.
