In 2018, audiences were introduced with a Spider-Man animated movie titled Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. The movie was a massive success according to movie fans and critics. After being postponed for a while, on Tuesday (9/6), the sequel, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has started production stage.

Reporting from Screen Rant, the news about the production of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2, was first announced on a tweet post by Nick Kondo. Via his Twitter account, Kondo tweeted, “First day on the job!” added with a Spider-Verse gif, indicating the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 will swing to the widescreen on 2022.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse tells about Miles Morales who struggles to control his powers. Amid his attempt to become a superhero, Morales encounters various Spider-Men from other dimensions who taught him many things.

Aside from providing an interesting storyline, the movie also offered eye-catching animations and outstanding visuals, which led to winning an Oscar and Golden Globe for The Best Animated Feature.

The storyline of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 is still covered in mysteries, but many people speculated that the movie will be focusing on Morales’ relationship with Gwen Stacy, Spider-Woman from another dimension. Meanwhile, Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2009 who appeared on the movie’s after credit, will have a role in the sequel.
