Gintama: The Final Movie will be released in early 2021 in Japan, on January 8, to be more exact. It is highly likely that this movie will be released outside of Japan months after its premiere. And, due to the uncertainty regarding the pandemic, chances are this movie will be delayed from its original release date. Let’s just hope that we can see this in cinemas in the middle of the next year.

With this, Gintama will have three movies after the Benizakura arc and the original story. It’s still unclear what the third movie will be about. Whether it’s a culmination of the last story arc or a completely new story that the manga didn’t cover. But since this is supposed to be the final movie, it’s fair to expect some surprises in this one.
