The Transformers film franchise is a series of science fiction action films centered on the conflict between two factions of alien robots: the Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, and the Decepticons, under the command of Megatron. The franchise started with the first film released in 2007 and was produced by Michael Bay, who went on to direct the four sequels.
This franchise is known for its spectacular action, stunning visual effects, and elaborate robot transformations. The story involves these robots fighting on Earth and their interactions with humans. One of the main themes in the series is the struggle between good (Autobots) against evil (Decepticons), with Earth often being the main battleground.
The series has achieved great success at the box office and made millions of dollars worldwide. However, the franchise has also received criticism for its lengthy films and complicated plots. Nonetheless, Transformers remains popular with fans and has spawned several spin-offs, including the Bumblebee film in 2018 and most recently, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts in 2023.
With the seventh film just released, it's time to sum up every Transformers film from worst to best on this list, guys!
7 Transformers Movies from Worst to Best
7. Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
The worst Transformers movie is Transformers: The Last Knight. Although the plot takes on serious themes such as war between humans and Transformers, the film seems to fail in combining these elements into a cohesive and engaging story. Optimus Prime is missing and the key to saving the future lies hidden in the secrets of the Transformers' past and hidden history on Earth.
6. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009)
Two years after Sam Witwicky and his Autobot friends saved Earth from the Decepticons, they are faced with a new battle: college. Despite having some memorable moments, Revenge of the Fallen falls to sixth place on this list due to a lack of focus on plot.
5. Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014)
After an epic battle, Age of Extinction takes us to a city in ruins but Earth is spared. Despite having interesting story elements and potential, the film doesn't fully succeed in conveying its vision, landing it in the middle of the rankings.

4. Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011)
With a climactic battle in Chicago and the introduction of the Sentinel Prime character, Dark of the Moon managed to take this franchise to a new level. However, several flaws in the plot and characters prevented the film from reaching the top spot.
3. Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)
As the latest film in the franchise, Rise of the Beasts returns the action and spectacle elements fans have been waiting for. Introducing a new faction, the Maximals, into the ongoing battle on Earth between the Autobots and the Decepticons, this film represents a significant improvement from some of the previous entries.
2. Transformers (2007)
The movie that started it all. Transformers 2007 introduced us to the Autobots and Decepticons and brought their war to Earth. Solid story presentation and stunning visual effects make it almost to the top of this list.
1. Bumblebee (2018)
In the first place, we have Bumblebee. Taking a more personal approach and focusing on the relationship between Charlie and Bumblebee, this film manages to give the franchise a new dimension. Plus, with an emphasis on character and emotion, Bumblebee shows that the Transformers franchise is capable of more than just action and combat.
That's the rank of the Transformers films from worst to best. From massive battles to emotional personal moments, the franchise has provided a variety of stories for all fans to enjoy. Let's wait what will come next in the Transformers franchise.
