The MPL Philippines Season 15 (MPL PH S15) has ended with Team Liquid PH successfully becoming champions after defeating ONIC PH with a score of 4-3 in the best of 7 (BO7) series mode. It was truly an epic match where Midlaner Alston “Sanji” Pablico became the Finals MVP of MPL PH.

As usual, at the end of the competition there will always be an award presentation to each player with the best contribution as the Finals MVP of MPL PH. From time to time, the figure of the player who becomes the Finals MVP of MPL PH often changes. Their roles also vary, they can be Jungler, EXP Laner, Gold Laner, Roamer or maybe Midlaner.

Last season, when ONIC PH won, Gold Laner Duane “Kelra” Pillas became the Finals MVP of MPL PH S14. In the previous season, when Team Liquid PH won, EXP Laner Sanford “Sanford” Marin Vinuya became the Finals MVP of MPL PH S13. So far from the various seasons that have passed, no Midlaner has been selected.

Interestingly, when Team Liquid PH won some time ago, finally new history was made with Midlaner Alston “Sanji” Pablico becoming the Finals MVP of MPL PH S15. Of course, this is interesting and for the first time a Midlaner who is truly a Midlaner was chosen as the Finals MVP of MPL PH.

TLPH Sanji Becomes the First Midlaner as Finals MVP of MPL PH S15

As previously mentioned, so far the Finals MVP of MPL PH has generally been won by players with roles such as Jungler, EXP Laner or even Gold Laner and it is very rare for a Midlaner to be chosen. However, new history was finally created in MPL PH S15 yesterday.

Team Liquid PH Midlaner, Alston “Sanji” Pablico was chosen as the Finals MVP of MPL PH S15. Sanji also expressed his gratitude for the award given to him, especially since he is a Midlaner who has played for several seasons in MPL PH. Sanji is very grateful for this.

“This is a big achievement for me because I am a mage player. I have never seen a mage player become MVP. All (MVPs) are generally Junglers, Gold Laners and EXP Laners. I am very proud of this achievement,” said Sanji as reported by Tiebreaker Times.

Actually, several seasons earlier, Blacklist International star Salic “Hadji” Imam managed to become the final MVP of MPL PH S8. However, he played as a Midlaner and Roamer simultaneously because he replaced OhMyV33nus. Sanji's mastery of the Mid hero was extraordinary in the Grand Final of MPL PH S15.

Sanji scored 2.4 AVG Kills and 6.9 assists with 2.4 deaths per game. The selection of Selena made him MVP in game 4. In fact, in the deciding game he impressed fans with the selection of the hero Luo Yi.

“I only use heroes that I have never used before,” added Sanji.

Sanji thanked his friends who had trusted him in choosing heroes in each of his games. Even to use a hero that he rarely or never used in the previous MPL.

"Thank you to my friends who have trusted me to use Selena, because it was the first time I used it in MPL and then in the Grand Final that made me happy. Using the hero (Selena) is like Gusion in the M4 era, I'm very happy," he said.

Finally, regarding the selection of Luo Yi in game 7, he also expressed his gratitude for choosing the right hero as the determinant.

"I was also given the trust to choose Luo Yi, which I have asked them for a long time. I really wanted to use Luo Yi especially when the game was a matter of life and death like that," he concluded.

Hopefully with the award given to Sanji, in the future there will be other Midlaners who can continue his legacy.
