Anime & Manga | 23 December
Some time ago, Franky's voice actor in One Piece, Kazuki Yao decided to retire due to health conditions and old age. This news certainly made fans feel sad because they lost one of the figures who voiced the Straw Hat crew.
At the Jump Festa 2025 event yesterday, Toei Animation announced the voice actor who will replace Kazuki Yao as the voice of Franky. He is Kimura Subaru, who will voice Franky starting in 2025. Kazuki Yao has been Franky's voice actor since 2004, to be exact, 19 years.
The scene of the handover of Franky's voice actor position was colored with a hilarious scene. The two voice actors wore beach shirts and red pants, then Kazuki Yao handed over a pair of red underwear to Subaru as a sign that he had passed on Franky's voice actor to him.
Kimura Subaru has also voiced several anime characters such as Satori Tendo from Haikyuu, Shoichi Kusanagi from Yu-Gi-Oh! Vrains, Aoi Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen, and others. Look forward to other interesting discussions about One Piece anime and manga on Dunia Games.
