The official Twitter account for the manga "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" (Sousou no Frieren) by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe announced the addition of 7 million copies in the market since the anime's debut. Now, the number of copies has reached more than 17 million.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End series went on hiatus for a moment before returning to serialization in March 2024.

The adventure is over, but life continues for the elf mage who is just beginning to understand the meaning of life. Frieren, the elven mage, and her fellow adventurers succeeded in defeating the Demon King, bringing peace to her land. Even so, Frieren would live far longer than her peers. How can she understand the meaning of life for those around her?

Decades after their victory, the funeral of one of her friends makes Frieren realize immortality. Frieren sets off on a journey to fulfill her comrades' last wishes, marking the beginning of a new adventure...

The anime "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" premiered with a two-hour special episode on September 29, 2023. It became the first anime series to premiere on NTV's "Kinyou Roadshow" programming block, a block usually reserved for feature films.

After that, the anime continued broadcasting on October 6 at 23.00 JST in NTV's new time slot, "FRIDAY ANIME NIGHT." This anime will run for two cours, until March 2024. Crunchyroll provides streaming of this anime simultaneously with its broadcast, including the English dubbed version.

Yamada and Abe started the manga series in Shogakukan's "Weekly Shonen Sunday" magazine in April 2020. The manga has received several awards, including the New Creator Award for the 25th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Awards in 2021 and the 14th Manga Taisho Award in 2021.

Additionally, the manga was nominated for Best Shonen Manga at the 45th Kodansha Manga Awards in 2021 and the 46th awards in May 2022. The American Library Association's Graphic Novels & Comics Round Table (GNCRT) also included this manga in the list Top 10 of 2022 Best Graphic Novels for Adults Reading List.
