On Tuesday, March 15, 2022, Warner Bros. Japan showed a full trailer for the two live-action Fullmetal Alchemist sequels. The two newest live-action films of the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise are titled Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushuusha Scar (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar) and Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter). - The Last Transmutation) in Japanese.

The sequels will feature ensemble cast members who will reprise their respective roles from the first movie. The live-action stars Ryosuke Yamada (member of Hey! Say! JUMP and Nagisa in the Assassination Classroom live-action) as Edward Elric. There's also Atomu Mizuishi (Garo in Makai no Hana) as Alphonse Elric, Tsubasa Honda (Futaba Blue Spring Ride) as Winry Rockbell, Dean Fujioka (Happy Marriage!?) as Roy Mustang, Misako Renbutsu as Riza Hawkeye, Kanata Hongo as Envy, Ryuta Sato as Maes Hughes, and Shinji Uchiyama as Gluttony.

Fumihiko Sori (Ping Pong) will return to direct the latest live-action films of this popular series. The movies will serve as the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of Hiromu Arakawa's Fullmetal Alchemist manga. Several theaters in Japan revealed a teaser for the project by presenting the website vengeance-scar.jp and a visual featuring the character Scar, played by Makenyu Arata (Enishi Yukishiro in the live-action Rurouni Kenshin and Roronoa Zoro in the upcoming One Piece live-action).

The latest Fullmetal Alchemist live-action movie, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Fukushuusha Scar (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Avenger Scar), will be released on May 20, 2022, and tells the story of Edward's battle against Scar.

The second new movie, Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen - Saigo no Rensei (Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter - The Last Transmutation), will be released on June 24, 2022, and serves as the end of the battle.

Previously the first live-action Fullmetal Alchemist movie was premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival in October 2017 before finally being released in Japan in December 2017.
