The official Twitter of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hinokami Kepputan) announced that the game has successfully circulated 1 million copies worldwide. Fyi, the 1 million copies are for the number of games in circulation and have been released by the Sega company, but that number is not a sales statistic.

The account also stated that the first free update for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles will be launching soon.

The characters Rui and Akaza will appear in the game as playable characters in the first of three free updates planned after release. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles was launched for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on October 15, 2021 ago.

Previously the game was released in Japan on October 14, 2021. Sega released the game in English for Asian countries on the same date.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba - The Hinokami Chronicles has a story mode where you get to enjoy the anime’s first season. Fighting Mode lets you play as other Demon Slayer characters. Playable characters include Tanjiro Kamado, Nezuko Kamado, Zenitsu Agatsuma, Inosuke Hashibira, Giyu Tomioka, Sakonji Urokodaki, Sabito, Makomo, Shinobu Kochou, Kyojuro Rengoku, Tanjiro Kamado using Hinokami Kagura, and Murata. 

Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Giyu Tomioka "Kimetsu Gakuen!" version are also available as playable characters.
