Square Enix has released the English trailer for the mobile game Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds or Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken Tamashii no Kizuna. The trailer reveals that Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds will be released globally on September 28, 2021 for iOS and Android.

Up to three players will be able to participate in cooperative play in this teamwork-based Action Role Playing Game (RPG). Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds will be available in English, Japanese, French, and Traditional Chinese.

A new anime from Riku Sanjo and Kōji Inada's manga, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai or Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken, will premiere in October 2020. Crunchyroll and Hulu are streaming the anime.

The game tells the story after the defeat of the demon king Hadlar, all the monsters are released from their evil intentions and move to the island of Delmurin to live in peace. Dai is the only human living on the island. After being raised by the benevolent monster Brass, Dai's dream is to grow up to become a hero.

Avan, the previous hero, trained him. But Hadlar announces that he is now working for a more powerful demon lord, coming to kill Avan. To save his students, Avan uses the "Self Sacrifice" spell to attack, but is unable to defeat Hadlar either.

When it seems like Dai and another Avan’s student named Popp are defeated, a mark appears on Dai's forehead and he suddenly gains superpowers and is able to fend off Hadlar. The two heroes then set out on a journey to avenge Avan and bring peace back to his world.

Toei Animation produces the anime which is a combination of CG (Computer Graphic) and 2D animation. The manga has also inspired other video game adaptations. Square Enix will release Infinity Strash Dragon Quest: Dai no Daiboken (The Adventure of Dai) an action role-playing game for console gaming in 2021. The Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken Xross Blade, an arcade card game, was released in October 2020.

For your information, the original manga were published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1989 to 1996. The manga previously inspired a 46-episode anime series that aired in 1991 and 1992, and three short anime films released in July 1991, March 1992, and July 1992
