Playstation just announced the details of PlayStation 5 today. The announcement contains the release date, specs, as well as games that will be available at the PS5 launch date. One of the games announced by Playstation is the Harry Potter-themed game titled Hogwarts Legacy.

Hogwarts Legacy is developed by Avalanche Software and Portkey Games, while the publishing is handled by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Aside from being released in PS5, Hogwarts Legacy will also arrive in PS4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC. Hogwarts Legacy is slated to be released next year, but the release date is yet to be announced.

According to Hogwarts Legacy's official website, this game is built in an open-world action RPG and sets in the wizarding world introduced in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. In this game, the player won’t play as the titular character, but instead your created character. You can customize your character looks and free to control your actions, like going on an adventure, creating potions, mastering spells, to taming fantastic beasts. 

If the Harry Potter novel takes place in the 90s, then Hogwarts Legacy will set one century prior, which is in the 1800s. You will play as a student who holds the mysterious ancient key that leads the wizarding world into chaos at that time. Not long after you arrive in Hogwarts, you will realize that you are not just an ordinary student, but instead the chosen one who can master ancient spells. This power leads to two choices: either to keep this secret or bow to the thirst for more fearsome power.
