The Hollywood Reporter reported on Monday, August 8, 2022 that the legendary game Pac-Man will get a live-action film directed by Bandai Namco Entertainment and Justin Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios Steve Sarowitz. The film adaptation of the legendary game Pac-Man is currently in development.

Chuck Williams of Lightbeam Entertainment (Sonic the Hedgehog live-action) is credited as the creator of the original idea. Williams and Tim Kwok of Lightbeam will produce the Pac-Man film, along with Baldoni, Manu Gargi, and Andrew Calof of Wayfarer Studios. Wayfarer Studios is a studio that also produces Clouds on Disney's streaming platform, Disney+.

The Pac-Man franchise from Bandai Namco Entertainment debuted with its first arcade game back in 1980 and made it a legendary game that is synonymous with the most popular pop culture video game icon around the world and also in gaming history.

Fyi, Bandai Namco also released PAC-MAN MUSEUM+ for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 27, 2022. Bandai Namco released the online multiplayer game Pac-Man 99 for free in digital form and exclusively for all members of Nintendo Switch Online in April 2021. The franchise also inspired an anime series called Pac-World in 2013.
