Warner Bros and Player First Games have confirmed an open beta for MultiVersus, which had its closed alpha last May. The Open Beta starts on 26 July and will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PC with cross-play and cross-progression support across all platforms.

In the announcement video, the game director, Tony Huynh, revealed that players who participated in the game’s closed alpha will be guaranteed entry to the early access open beta on July 19 and receive a code via email to redeem on the platform of their choosing. New players can get early access admission to the open beta by linking their WB Games account to their Twitch account and watching streamers for the chance to win an early access code.

MultiVersus seemed quite a promising game when it was first revealed last year. This Super Smash Bros-Esque platform fighting game features characters from DC Comics, Looney Tunes, Cartoon Network, and many more. This game will focus on team-based 2 vs 2 battles with each character having different moves to attack their opponents and help teammates.

The confirmed characters that will be featured in the game include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn from the DC Universe; Shaggy from Scooby-Doo; Bugs Bunny; Arya Stark from Game of Thrones; Tom and Jerry; Finn and Jake from Adventure Time; Steven Universe and Garnet. The game will also feature several familiar voice cast members reprising their roles in this game.

The gameplay trailer, which has been revealed previously, featured Iron Giant, the titular character from the 1999 cult classic. Iron Giant is the tallest Tank character in the game so far. MultiVersus open beta will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. If you didn’t participate in the closed alpha, you can get early access from Twitch Drop on the MultiVersus channel starting next week.
