Garena Youth Championship (GYC): Indonesia’s Biggest Free Fire Tournament for Students
Garena Youth Championship (GYC) is Indonesia’s largest student-level Free Fire esports tournament, aimed at junior and senior high school students. It is part of the Garena Goes to School (GGTS) program launched in 2017, promoting student achievement through esports while encouraging strong academic performance.
GYC History and Milestones

2019: Youth National Esports Championship attracted over 7,200 teams

2023: Set a MURI (Indonesian World Records Museum) record with 26,983 students from 5,432 schools

2024: Expanded to 82 cities; SMAN 1 Kelapa crowned national champion

2025: Returns with the theme "Be a Free Fire Hero & Make Your School Proud"
Tournament Format

City Qualifier (Offline): Held in each participating city

Regional Stage (Online): Cross-city competition held online

Grand Finals (Offline): Top 12 teams compete in Jakarta
Eligibility Criteria

Active junior/senior high school students (or equivalent)

Teams of 4–5 students from the same school

Max 25 teams per school

Minimum average report card grade: 65
Rules & Code of Conduct

Use of emulators, controllers, or cheats is strictly prohibited

Participants must be Indonesian citizens and reside in Indonesia

Sportsmanship is mandatory; toxic behavior, flaming, and trolling result in penalties

Grand Finals use the Champion Rush format (max 80 points + Booyah)
