It’s different than the previous installment as this game introduces several new features.

Still Revolving Around Indonesian Ghosts

The success of DreadOut is not separated from the intriguing story as well as local ghosts that featured, which managed to make foreign players shivering when encountering them. Various famous evil entities that featured in the game are Babi Ngepet, Sundel Bolong, Kuntilanak, and Pocong. This time, the developer will offer new evil spirits in this sequel. Not much information revealed regarding the evil spirits that will haunt players. But surely, the next installment will have several new evil entities to scare players.

Same Concept With New Mechanisms

DreadOut 2 was developed using the Unreal Engine, where the exploration will be more open than the predecessor. You will play again as Linda and continuing her journey after the first game ends. Interestingly, now Linda can explore the town in an open-world fashion. Also, she can interact with various NPCs and clearing quests as you pleased.

The gameplay system still retaining the same combat from the first game, where Linda must investigate various paranormal cases in the town with her mystical smartphone. As usual, you must defeat those ghosts using your smartphone.

Inspired From Dark Souls Series

Maybe you have seen a glimpse of the DreadOut 2 gameplay from the video they shared, and you can immediately recognize that the sequel has some similarities with Dark Souls. In this game, Linda is not only using her smartphone camera to defend herself as this game introduces various melee weapons like a knife and an ax. Linda can also absorb their powers to be used later.
