GIMINDO is a special column in Dunia Games where the writer writes everything you need to know about Indonesian games. In today’s edition, the writer will review a game titled Ravensword: Undaunted by Trimatra Interactive.
Ravensword is a franchise belonging to Crescent Moon Games. Initially, Crescent Moon Games released a mobile game titled Ravensword: The Fallen King in 2009 for iPhone. The game was quite popular and became one of the best RPG games for Apple devices.
Then finally, Crescent Moon Games released Ravensword: Shadowlands in 2013 for PC, Android, and iOS. Unlike the previous game, Shadowlands brought an open-world RPG concept where the players got to enjoy exploring a vast world. The game was even compared to another open-world RPG game, Elder Scrolls.
Sadly, a lot of gamers were disappointed with the gameplay of Ravensword: Shadowlands. Gamers who tried this game Crescent Moon Games felt that the game is too stiff compared to other action RPG games.
However, Crescent Moon Games even re-released Ravensword: Shadowlands after getting graphics improvements for PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. But again, gamers were still not satisfied with the game. Gamers were disappointed because there weren’t many changes from the classic Ravensword: Shadowlands.
Not wanting to bury its franchise, Crescent Moon Games trusted Trimatra Interactive to develop the next Ravensword game, titled Ravensword: Undaunted. The developer based in Surabaya is trusted to work on a game that is inspired by a classic first-person dungeon crawler, Hexen, using the Ravensword universe.
Unlike the previous games, Undaunted looks similar to Elder Scroll V: Skyrim. Where it no longer has a third-person camera perspective and only uses a first-person camera perspective.
Then what is Ravensword: Undaunted like? Is it a game that should be on your wishlist? See the review here.
What is Ravensword: Undaunted?
There’s not much information shared by Trimatra Interactive or Crescent Moon Games about the Undaunted series. They only explained that Undaunted is a game inspired by a classic dungeon crawler game, Hexen, that was released in 1995. But it’s developed with Ravensword assets.
The storyline of Undaunted is similar to Shadowlands, about a warrior from one of the Watch Apprentice who was attacked by Keep. The attack results in the player becoming Deathless and the soul is bound to Keep demon.
From the progress image shared, you can see that Watch Apprentice controlled by the player is using a special sword named Ravensword. In Shadowland, the sword is the player’s loyal companion and really effective for killing the troops of the dark force.
