Hiroyuki's popular anime Girlfriend, Girlfriend (Kanojo mo Kanojo), has released a commercial video for its second season via its official website. In this video, it is revealed that the second season will premiere on October 6th 2023.

Apart from that, a snippet of the opening theme song entitled "Dramatic ni Koi Shitai" (I Want to Fall in Dramatic Love) was also released, sung by Hikari Codama, as well as the ending theme song entitled "Forira" sung by ClariS.

The second season of Girlfriend, Girlfriend will air on the Animeism block on MBS, TBS, and BS-TBS channels at 2:23 am and 3:00 am Japanese time. The first broadcast on MBS and TBS starts at 2:28 am Japanese time. For fans outside Japan, Crunchyroll will broadcast this anime simultaneously with its broadcast in Japan.

The new season will bring changes to the production team with several returning members. Takatoshi Suzuki, who previously directed episodes for A Couple of Cuckoos and The Legend of the Galactic Heroes: Die Neue These, will be directing the second season at studio Synergy SP. The screenplay will continue to be supervised by Keiichiro Ochi, who was previously involved in the first season, along with Kazuhiko Inukai.

The character designs were handed over to Shouko Hagiwara, while the music composition will be done by Kanade Sakuma, Tatsuhiko Saiki, Miki Sakurai, and Junko Nakajima. Aoi Koga will return to voice the character Risa Hoshizaki.

The first season of Girlfriend, Girlfriend premiered in July 2021 and immediately became popular on the Animeism block. This anime stars Junya Enoki as Naoya Mukai, Ayane Sakura as Saki Saki, Azumi Waki as Nagisa Minase, Ayana Taketatsu as Rika Hoshizaki, and Rie Takahashi as Shino Kiryu.

The story itself tells about Naoya who gets a girlfriend, Saki, but suddenly receives a love confession from Nagisa. Naoya asked Saki's permission to date the two of them, and this is where this hilarious and unique love story begins. Hopefully the second season of Girlfriend, Girlfriend will continue to entertain fans with its fresh romantic comedy!
