There’s something unique with today’s Google home page. In celebrating Tokyo Olympics, Google Doodle also features a 16-bit game titled "Doodle Champion Island Games", which has seven fun mini-games.
In this game, you’ll be playing a cat character dressed as a ninja named "Lucky". Your goal is to help Lucky win the seven challenges/mini-game on the island. These challenges include various Olympic events, such as table tennis; skateboarding; archery; rugby; synchronized swimming; climbing; and marathon.
The animations and characters in this Google Doodle were created by a Tokyo-based animation studio, Studio 4°C, with stories and images composed by Nate Swinehart, Sophie Diao, Ben Tobias, and Helene Leorus. Qomu Music handled the music and cinematic score. Doodle Champion Island Games is a huge project as it involved many parties including a producer, UX designers, UX supports and researchers, as well as the Doodle team.
