Resident Evil Village (or RE Village) is one of the most anticipated games in 2021 for horror game fans. This game will be a direct sequel to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (RE 7) which was released in 2017.

Capcom as the developer of the Resident Evil Village game also confirmed that this game can be called Resident Evil 8 because of the Roman number "VIII" (number 8) in the word "Village" (stylized as VII.I.AGE RESIDENT EVIL).

Scheduled for release on May 7, 2021, Resident Evil Village can be played on the PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X /S.

Ethan Winters Returns

Like its predecessor, Resident Evil Village carries the survival horror genre which is played from a first-person perspective (FPP).

After his struggles to find his wife in RE7, Ethan Winters returns as the main character in Resident Evil Village. He is forced to come to a palace in a mysterious snowy village to save his daughter who's kidnapped by Chris Redfield.

Fans of the Resident Evil franchise are no stranger to Chris Redfield, who has appeared as a protagonist many times in previous Resident Evil games. This makes his action a big question that may only be answered if you successfully beat Resident Evil Village.

A Tempting Antagonist

With the release of its third trailer last week, Capcom shows an antagonist who will haunt Ethan on his journey. She is Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, a female vampire who has stolen the hearts of gamers.

Lady Dimitrescu has a large, tall build and pale complexion. Instead of being creepy, she looks tempting. Not alone, Lady Dimitrescu lives with three daughters who have magic powers that can turn into insects.

Since the release of the third trailer, gamers have never stopped talking about the charming Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters. Many memes and fanart circulating on social media say that gamers are willing to die for their blood sucked by the antagonist.

New Multiplayer Mode: RE: Verse

Bored with the single player mode? Resident Evil Village has a multiplayer mode called RE: Verse. Here, you can play online multiplayer with five other players in deathmatch mode. RE: Verse is a separate title, but you can get it for free if you purchase Resident Evil Village.

In this mode, you can nostalgic with iconic characters from the past Resident Evil titles such as Leon, Jill, Ada Wong, Nemesis, HUNK, and Jack Baker.

Uniquely, players who are killed, won’t die but instead turns into monsters that can attack other players. The shape of the monsters varies depending on the number of virus samples collected. The more virus samples collected, the stronger the monster's strength.

This mode lasts for several rounds with a duration of 5 minutes each. Later, every kill, kill streak, revenge kill, and sample capsule that you collect throughout the game will be included in the final score.
