After a month of arduous battles and filled with outstanding performance, a team from Indonesia, GPX, managed to become the runner-up at the Free Fire Championship (FFAC) International Tournament with a score of 84 points and brought home US$50,000 (equal to Rp718 million).

Meanwhile, the champion title was won by HQ Esports from Vietnam with a score of 86 points and brought home US$80,000 (equal to Rp1.1 billion)

Surprisingly, GPX itself is a newcomer team that was formed in August 2021. Debuting at FFML Season IV Preheat Series, after working together with Siren Esports, they continued their journey to FFML Season IV Division 1 and ended up in second place of Group C which made them gain a slot at FFIM 2021 Fall Grand Finals and win the third place. This position gave them a chance to represent Indonesia at FFAC Play-Ins.

Free Fire Asia Championship is the first international tournament that is participated by GPX players. They won third place in FFIM 2021 Fall must willingly start from the Play-ins with 4 other Indonesian teams. This thing didn’t make Justeen, Dvito, Wings, 18Deer, and Rawww feel down. Despite the challenge, they managed to play well on the Play-Ins, as well as to proceed to the FFAC Finals after gaining second place in Group B on the FFAC Play-Ins day 2 by having 2 Booyah!s and 78 points.

In the Finals, EVOS Divine who was rumored to give the best outcome turned out to be overwhelmed by other teams from Vietnam and Thailand. This thing didn’t happen to GPX where they have already had the experience facing them in the Play-ins. They managed to play consistently and secured 2 Booyah!s in the Finals. GPX’s success in securing second place wasn’t separated from Wing’s epic gameplay back in the Finals with 14 kills and 9090 damage alone.

Indonesia was also represented by EVOS Divine in the Finals, which placed seventh with 55 points and brought home US$ 15,000 (roughly Rp 215 million). Here’s the end score of the FFAC Finals.

  1. HQ Esports - Vietnam (86 points)
  2. GPX Esports - Indonesia (84 points)
  3. CGGG - Thailand (79 points)
  4. Heavy - Vietnam (74 points)
  5. eArena - Thailand (72 points)
  6. SYZYGY - Thailand (57 points)
  7. EVOS Divine - Indonesia (55 points)
  8. Team Elite - India (49 points)
  9. Burst the Sky - Vietnam (47 points)
  10. Blacklist International - Malaysia (34 points)
  11. LGDS - Chinese Taipei(34 points)
  12. Hotshot Esports - Pakistan (16 points)

Previously, DG Esports, SES Alfalink, and The Pillar Gladius were also fought as the representatives of Indonesia in the FFAC Play-Ins but were unable to proceed to the Finals.

We would like to say congratulations to the GPX team, and “nice try” for EVOS Divine. See you next time at the next national and international tournaments, Survivors!
