When it comes to popular Marksman Champions in the game, Ezreal may be the first name to cross our minds. This Champion is unparalleled in terms of the poke and burst damage he produces. However, some players may find his mechanics are a bit difficult to grasp, as they eventually end up as a feeder. Now, to get a better grasp of this Champion, take a look at the following guide by Dunia Games.
1. Item Build
[Manamune]
Since Ezreal is basically a mana-reliant Champion, then you may want to get Manamune as your first item. It grants Ezreal 25 Attack Damage, 10% cooldown, and 300 mana. As for its Passive, Manamune grants bonus attack damage equal to 1% maximum mana, and it refunds 15% of mana spent.
Manamune also builds stacks of bonus mana and when it reaches the maximum stack of 700, it transforms into Muramana (300 mana to 1000 mana).
[Ionian Boots of Lucidity]
For his boots, you can pick Ionian Boots of Lucidity for its additional 10% cooldown. This additional cooldown is very useful for Ezreal to spam his Mystic Shot (1) faster. With a lower cooldown for Mystic Shot (1), you can shred Tanks easily.
[Iceborn Gauntlet]
Next, you can get Iceborn Gauntlet for its 20% cooldown reduction. Aside from that, Iceborn Gauntlet also offers 50 armor to make him a bit tankier. It also grants him 450 Mana, so Ezreal will be able to spam Mystic Shot (1) more often.
[Blade of Ruined King]
For his next item, you may want to get the Blade of the Ruined King. This item will grant Ezreal a 30% bonus attack speed and 30 Attack Damage. Blade of the Ruined King is also useful for him since it has a Passive effect, which reduces 25% of the target’s movement speed who has been hit by his 3 basic attacks.
[Bloodthirster]
When the match progresses into the late game phase, you can start to rely on lifesteal to fight against your opponents. Now, for the recommended item, you can pick Bloodthirster for 3,400 gold. It offers 15% Physical Vamp with an additional shield when you are overhealed.
[Guardian Angel]
To make yourself tankier, you can pick Guardian Angel. This item will provide you with 40 armor and 45 Attack Damage and the Resurrect Passive effect.
You can get resurrected with 50% HP and 30% of max mana. However, this item has a 3-minute cooldown. So it’d be better to get it in the later phase of the game.
[Upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Quicksilver Enchant]
For his boots upgrade, you may want to pick Quicksilver Enchant. This item has an Active effect that removes all Crowd Control effects instantly. Perfect for Ezreal who tends to be the main target in team fights.
2. Rune
[Kleptomancy]
For his Keystone, you can pick Kleptomancy for Ezreal. Using Kleptomancy will grant Ezreal a random item effect as buffs. This Rune complements really well with Ezreal’s Mystic Shot (1) -- giving him an extra edge in the laning phase.
[Triumph]
For the Domination rune, you can pick Triumph for its 10% additional HP after getting a Champion takedown. It also grants him 3% increased damage to enemies with below 35% HP.
[Regeneration]
For his next Rune, you can pick Regeneration to give Ezreal some sustain. Its Passive allows you to regenerate 2% missing health or mana every 3s (based on whichever percentage is lower).
[Manaflow Band]
For his last Rune, you may want to get the Manaflow Band, which increases his maximum Mana by 30 (up to 300) when he lands a hit on an enemy Champion with an ability or empowered attack.
3. Spells
[Flash]
Flash is a Spell for the people. Almost every Champion uses this Spell to chase down enemies or escaping from them. However, this cooldown for Spell is quite long, 150s.
[Heal]
Heal is a Spell that restores the user 80-360 HP (based on level) as well as a 30% bonus movement speed for 1s. It also heals nearby allies.
Therefore, Heal is usually taken by one player in the team, which is the Marksman or AD Carry.
4. Combo
When it comes to combo, Ezreal relies heavily on distance pokes. However, you can use the following basic combo when you’re facing head-to-head with a Champion:
Essence Flux (2) -> Mystic Shot (1) -> Arcane Shift (3) -> Basic Attack
5. Gameplay
- Use Mystic Shot (1) to poke your enemies and overwhelm them with your ranged attacks;
- Always use Essence Flux (2) before shooting at your targets to amplify the damage;
- Don’t use Trueshot Barrage (Ultimate) exclusively to finish off your opponents, use it to clear minion waves too.
