Kennen is the newest Champion addition in Wild Rift who excels at launching surprise attacks. He can launch these attacks with great AoE, giving him an edge in team fights. Now, to get a better grasp of this Champion, on this occasion, Dunia Games would like to give you the best build for Kennen in Wild Rift.
If you’ve just bought Kennen, check out this build.
1. Item Build
[Infinity Orb]
For his first item, you can get the Infinity Orb. This item grants you 60 additional Ability Power and 200 HP. As for its Passive, Infinity Orb provides a 5% bonus Movement Speed and 15 Magic Penetration. Another Passive that this item offers is a 20% bonus Critical Damage against enemies with less than 35% health.
[Gluttonous Greaves]
As for his boots, you may want to get the Gluttonous Greaves to increase his Physical and Magic Vamp so that he can restore some of his HP while attacking his targets with his skills. With these boots, Kennen can survive longer in team fights.
[Morellonomicon]
You can buy Morellonomicon after getting your boots. This item provides additional 70 Ability Power and 300 HP -- making you tankier. Morellonomicon also works amazingly against Champions who rely on lifesteal in team fights because of its Grievous Wounds -- an effect that reduces the enemy’s health regen.
[Rabadon's Deathcap]
To make it even more difficult for enemies to survive your attack, you can have a massive boost of Ability Power from Rabadon's Deathcap. Despite its high price, this item is totally worth buying for its additional 130 Ability Power. Not to mention its Passive, which grants you 40% bonus Ability Power (of your total Ability Power). Even Tanks will find it difficult to withstand Kennen’s attacks with Rabadon's Deathcap.
[Liandry's Torment]
Next, you can make good use of Liandry's Torment to further increase both his ability power and HP. Since Kennen’s a pretty squishy Champion, picking the Liandry's Torment is gonna be a smart decision for you.
What makes Liandry's Torment perfect for Kennen is its Torment unique effect, which provides him 1% of the target’s maximum health magic damage over 3 seconds with his ability damage. This additional ability damage doubles against slowed or immobilized targets.
[Void Staff]
Next, you may want to get the Void Staff. This item is crucial in the late game, because, the Tanks would’ve already equipped themselves with a magic-resist item, thus it would be harder for you to dish out some damage on them. In terms of its effect, this item grants you 70 Ability Power with a Passive that provides you 40% magic penetration.
[Upgrade Gluttonous Greaves: Stasis Enchant]
Since Kennen is a squishy Champion, he tends to end up being the main target for the opposing team during team fights. Therefore, you can upgrade your Gluttonous Greaves to Stasis Enchant. It allows you to become invulnerable for 2.5s.
2. Runes
[Conqueror]
Kennen needs high Damage to finish off his targets quickly. Therefore, you can pick Conqueror as his Rune. Its Passive grants him 2-6 bonus damage (based on level) stacking up to 5 times -- for a maximum of 10 - 30 bonus Attack Damage (based on level).
[Brutal]
For Domination, you can pick Brutal for Kennen as it grants him 14 bonus ability power and 2% magic power. With Brutal, Kennen will be able to dish out immense damage since the early game.
[Spirit Walker]
As for his Resolve, you may want to get Spirit Walker to gain 50 max HP and 20% slow resistance.
[Hunter - Genius]
With Hunter - Genius as his Inspiration Rune, Kennen will receive a 2.5% bonus cooldown reduction. Also, unique takedowns will grant him a 1.5% bonus cooldown reduction. This Rune synergizes greatly with Kennen’s skill set.
3. Spells
[Ignite]
Ignite greatly benefits Kennen in duels. You can use Ignite when the enemy HP is critically low, as it will burn your target with 60-410 true damage (based on level) for 5s -- finishing off your target when they try to escape the team fight.
[Flash]
Flash is a Spell that works well for any Champion. Almost every Champion uses this Spell to chase down enemies or escaping from them. However, this cooldown for Spell is quite long, 150s.
4. Combo
To pull off Kennen’s deadly combo, you need to find the perfect timing. So, you need to make it your second nature. Here’s the combo:
Lightning Rush (3) → Slicing Maelstorm (U) → Electrical Surge (2)
5. Gameplay
- During the laning phase, you can poke your matchup with Thundering Shuriken (1), or the fifth-attack after your fourth stack, followed by Electrical Surge (2);
- To clear wave effectively, you can use Lightning Rush (3) and Electrical Surge (2);
- Before initiating ganks, make sure to get your stacks ready. Once you have enough stacks, you can launch a surprise attack with Lightning Rush (3), then with a basic attack, and closed with Electrical Surge (2) to apply the stun effect.
