There are many types of mage that you can use in Wild Rift. one of the most popular mages in Wild RIft is Lux. Lux is popular for newbies thanks to her long-ranged skill. Despite being easy to use, some players failed to optimize her potential by using the wrong rune and item. To make sure that you don’t make the same mistake, you should read this Lux guide and build by Dunia Games.

1. Lux’s Item

[Luden's Echo]

For the first item, you should get Luden’s Echo. The item makes Lux powerful in the early game thanks to the 80 ability power, 10% cooldown, and 300 mana. Luden’s Echo passive gives Lux 100 magic damage when she collects 100 discord (stack) (moving or casting ability charges discord).

[Ionian Boots of Lucidity]

You should get Ionian Boots of Lucidity for the boots that add a 10% cooldown reduction for Lux. this is a great status for mage, especially for Lux that relies on her skills to create a combo.

[Awakened Soulstealer]

Because the cooldown of her ultimate skill is long, you can counter the issue by getting Awakened Soulstealer. Awakaned Soulstealer gives a 3% cooldown reduction for the ultimate skill every time you kill an opponent. The maximum cooldown reduction is 15% with 5 stacks.

[Rabadon's Deathcap]

To neutralize your opponent, you can get a massive ability power boost with an item called Rabadon’s Deathcap. The item is quite expensive, but it’s worth the price since the item gives 130 ability power.  The passive of this item is an additional 40% ability power (from your current ability power). No tanks can withstand Lux’s abilities once you got Rabadon’s Deathcap

[Morellonomicon]

The next item you should get is Morellonomicon. The item adds 70 ability power and 300 HP -- to add extra durability for Lux. Morellonomicon is a great item for heroes that relies on lifesteal in a team fight thanks to the Grievous Wounds -- an effect that reduces the opponent’s HP regen.

[Void Staff]

The final item you should get is Void Staff. The item is crucial in the late game since most tank users already got magic resist items, so it’s harder to kill them with magic. Speaking of Void Staff, the item gives you 70 ability power and 40% magic penetration.

[Upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity: Stasis Enchant]

Mage is prone to death, especially when you are facing an assassin like Master Yi or Zed. that’s why you can upgrade Ionian Boots of Lucidity to Stasis Enchant. The item makes you immune to attack and you also can’t attack for 2.5 seconds.

2. Lux’s Rune

[Electrocute]

As a mage, Lux needs burst damage to eliminate her opponents quickly, that’s why you should equip Electrocute as your Keystone. When you are attacked for three times using basic attack or ability power, lightning will strike your opponent and deal 30-184 damage (based on level); (40% bonus attack damage); (25% ability power)

[Brutal]

You can equip Brutal for your Domination rune. The run gives Lux 14 ability power and 2% bonus magic resist. With brutal, you are ready to face any front laner that tries to engage.

[Regeneration]

The next rune you can equip is Regeneration, to give Lux more sustainability. The passive of this rune is 2% HP or mana regen every 3% (depending on the percentage)

[Hunter - Genius]

By using Hunter - Genius as your inspiration rune, Lux receives an additional 2,5% cooldown reduction. Eliminating a unique Champion will give an extra 1,5% cooldown reduction. The rune synergizes with Lux’s skill set, especially Light binding (1). 

3. Lux’s Spell

[Flash]

Flash is a spell of many players. Almost every Champion uses this spell to chasing or escaping mechanism. But the cooldown of this spell is 150 seconds.

[Ignite]

Ignite is a great spell for Lux. you can use Ignite when the opponent’s HP is low, because it will burn them, dealing 40-410 true damage (based on level) for 5s - allowing you to kill them when they try to escape.

4. Lux’s Skill Combo 

This mage got a deadly combo. With three skills, squishy Champions like marksman, assassin, and mage will easily die. Try this combo:

Light Binding (1) -> Lucent Singularity (3) -> Final Spark (Ultimate)

5. Tips When Using Lux

1. Attack your opponent with basic attack after hitting them with Light Binding (1) and Lucent Singularity (3) to activate her passive, Illumination, that gives 20-190 bonus magic damage (based on level)
2. If you are carrying a ward, use Lucent Singularity (3) to get a vision in the bush
3. Aim Prismatic Barrier (2) to your teammates so they get more durability during a battle.
