Ling is one of the most popular Assassins in Mobile Legends today. The reason for his popularity is because he has an arguably perfect set of skills for an Assassin — he's nimble and can dish out massive damage.

For those of you who are still trying to master Ling in Mobile Legends, be sure to check out our complete guide in this article!

Abilities

Passive - Cloud Walker: Ling's superb Lightness Skill helps him leap among walls. When resting on the wall, He gains 4 Lightness Points per second when he's on a walland 5 extra Lightness Points each time he deals damage. Ling gains 2 times Crit Chance from all sources but only has 140% Critical Damage.

Skill 1 - Finch Poise: Passive: Ling’s Critical Chance is permanently increased by 2.5%–10%.

Active: Ling casts his Lightness Skill, leaping onto the designated wall, entering half-stealth state, restoring Lightness Points more quickly and gaining 30% Movement Speed. If Ling receives damage, he will leave the half-stealth state. If he is controlled, he will fall onto the ground and be slowed by 30% for 2 seconds. When using this skill to jump from a wall to another, it will reset the Cooldown and refresh the half-stealth state.

Skill 2 - Defiant Sword: Ling charges in a designated direction and stabs the nearby enemies at his destination, dealing 300–400 (+40% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage.

If Ling casts this skill when he is on the wall, he'll dash to the target location on the ground, dealing 300–400 (+40% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies within a small area and slowing them down by 30% for 1.5 seconds. If this attack critically strikes, the enemies will be slowed by extra 45% for 0.75 seconds.

Defiant Sword is regarded as Basic Attack, can trigger attack effects, and restores 35–60 HP for Ling each time it hits an enemy.

Ultimate - Tempest of Blades: Ling leaps into the air, becoming invincible and gaining 10% extra Movement Speed for 1.5 seconds. He can move freely when in the air. He then lands on the ground, dealing 250–450 (+100% Total Physical Attack) Physical Damage to enemies in the area, knocking those in the center airborne for 1 second, and creating a Sword Field for 8 seconds.

Four Tempest of Blades will also appear on the edge of the Sword Field. Ling can touch them to reduce the cooldown of Finch Poise by 4 seconds, reset the cooldown of Defiant Sword, and gain 25 Lightness points.

Item Build

Behemoth Hunter’s Tough Boots

For his first item, you should consider getting the Tough Boots for Ling to increase his Magic Resist and reduce the crowd control effect he receives.

As for the Retribution, Ling should use Behemoth Hunter to steal HP from his opponents.

Endless Battle

After getting him boots, you can then get the Endless Battle to increase his damage output. Endless Battle offers additional attributes that are definitely very useful for Ling such as max HP, Physical Attack, Physical Life Steal, Mana Regen, Cooldown Reduction, and Movement Speed.

With this item, Ling can cause tremendous damage while increasing his survivability in team fights due to the additional Life Steal.

War Axe

is a perfect item for Assassins like Ling as it increases 550 Max HP, 45 Physical Attack, 10% Cooldown Reduction, as well as a Passive that allows Ling to enter a battle position after inflicting damage to any enemy unit.

This item increases the hero's Physical Attack by 9 and Physical Penetration by 3 every second for 3 seconds, up to a max of 8 stacks (Marksman/Mage/Support only get 33% of this stack effect); also increases Movement Speed by 20% on a full stack.

Demon Hunter Sword

For the next item, Ling can use the Demon Hunter Sword -- a very effective item to use against Tanky opponents because of its Passive effect.

Apart from that, the Demon Hunter Sword also increases the user's damage output during the late game, helping you to inflict massive damage during the later stage of the game.

Malefic Roar

To help Ling fight more effectively against Tanks, he needs Malefic Roar as it increases Physical Attack as well as Physical Penetration. Apart from that, Malefic Roar also has a Passive effect that offers additional Physical Penetration up to 20% against enemies with high defense.

The higher the enemy's armor stat, the more damage Malefic Roar causes.

Windtalker

For the last item, you can use an item called Windtalker for the 40% Attack Speed, 20 Movement Speed, and an additional 10% Critical Chance it offers.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Mobility

This Assassin possesses a unique ability that allows him to walk on, and even jump between walls. This can turn Ling into an OP hero as he can be really difficult to target. Even lock-type skills can't attack Ling when he's on top of a wall.

Highly Agile

As mentioned above, Ling has the ability to walk on walls. This ability makes Ling the most agile hero in Mobile Legends after Fanny.

Can Dish Out Massive Damage

As an Assassin, Ling can definitely inflict some nasty damage. He can dish out tremendous critical damage, especially if he has certain items such as Endless Battle. After getting his core items, Ling can finish off the opponent's Carry in a matter of seconds!

Vast Area-of-Effect

This hero doesn't only have single target-type attacks, but Ling can also issue a fairly wide area-of -effect skill with his Ultimate. He can attack multiple enemies using his Ultimate.

Relatively Short Cooldown

Ling's main skill has a fairly short Cooldown. He can attack enemies continuously using this skill.

Cons

Highly LP/Energy Reliant

Ling is the most agile Assassin who uses Lightness Point or energy. Usually, a hero with a skill set like him requires a lot of energy to cast his abilities. That's why Ling can run out of energy a lot faster than most heroes.

Weak Early Game

As a hero who needs certain items to inflict enormous damage, Ling is certainly weak in the early game. He can't kill his opponents quickly in this phase.

Lack of Crowd Control

Even though he can dish out massive damage and possesses high agility, Ling doesn't have any powerful Crowd Control ability to really hinder his opponents. With no Crowd Control, Ling has to finish off his opponents quickly before they can escape.

Sub-Par Defense Stats

To make him not too OP, the devs created Ling with a very low Defense. Ling can be easily killed with burst damage-type abilities such as Aldous's skills.
