Anime & Manga | 12 May
As one of the oldest crew members in the Straw Hats, Sanji has experienced various experiences while sailing together. He is more often unlucky than lucky. This time, Dunia Games would like to discuss 10 bad things that have happened to Sanji in One Piece!
1. Dumped by His Father When He Was a Kid
Sanji is a member of the Vinsmoke family who was raised by the leader of Germa 66, Vinsmoke Judge. From the start, Judge, also his father, once tried to turn his children into invincible fighting machines. Out of his five children, only Sanji whom he considered as a failure because his body cannot become superhuman.
This made Sanji the subject of bullying by his siblings every day. Because he had enough of his son and also considered him a disgrace, Judge dumped Sanji and asked him not to recognize the leader of Germa 66 as his father.
2. Zoro is Still Better Than Him
Even though he looks like he often competes with Zoro, actually Sanji is no better than him. This has been seen from the start, to be precise when Zoro became Luffy's first crew member and the person he trusted the most. Zoro himself saves Luffy's life more often than Sanji.
Not that Zoro's role in Luffy is better than Sanji, it's just that Zoro has a bigger contribution. In the end, Zoro's bounty is still higher than Sanji's. Zoro is also the vice-captain of the Straw Hat Pirates.
3. Kuma Threw Sanji into a Kamabakka Kingdom
At the end of the Sabaody arc, the entire Straw Hat crew was thrown by Kuma in various places. This was to save Luffy and his friends from Admiral Kizaru who was assigned to apprehend them. Apart from Sanji and Luffy, all of the crew were thrown to a place where they could still survive.
Luffy was thrown into Kuja Island, where all the residents living there were women. Men are strictly prohibited in that place. Meanwhile, Sanji was thrown into the Kamabakka Kingdom where all the inhabitants of the island are okamas or transvestites. For two years, Sanji suffered a lot living with the okamas.
4. Almost Getting Killed by Enel at Skypiea
Skypiea is a place that makes it very difficult for the Straw Hats to fight. This was because they were dealing with the Logia ability user, Enel. At that time, only Luffy could fight him because he has a rubber body (rubber is immune to lightning).
Sanji, who was trying to save Nami and Usopp from Enel, was hit by Enel's one million volts of electricity and was almost killed. Because his abilities from the Germa 66 experiment haven't awakened yet, that must have been a very painful thing for him.
5. Beated by Gin After Saving Him
The Don Krieg Pirates are the main antagonists in the Baratie arc. This is also the arc where Luffy met Sanji. There, Sanji met Gin who came to him in a state of hunger. Sanji, who couldn't bear to see someone starving, cook a dish for him. Gin ate Sanji's food and savor every bite.
But the ungrateful Gin later attacked Sanji when Don Krieg came to attack Baratie. Sanji, who at that time had no energy, could not resist Gin. In the end, Gin retreated while carrying Krieg who was defeated by Luffy.

6. Almost Starving to Death
After Zeff Pirates' ship was wrecked, Sanji, who had intruded into it, got stranded on a small island without any food. Sanji and Zeff were trapped on the island for 85 days. Zeff gave all the leftovers he had to Sanji. Even so, it was not enough to endure his hunger for 85 days.
Sanji was starving and almost died. Luckily, they survived until Zeff founded Baratie.
7. Trapped by Viola
Shortly after arriving at Dressrosa, Sanji left with Viola who seduced him. Sanji was very happy and obeyed everything Viola said. He even made a promise to Viola to leave the Straw Hats in order to be with her.
After that, it was revealed that Viola was a member of the Doflamingo Pirates. In the end, Sanji realized that he almost left the Straw Hats for a woman. It was a naive decision.
8. Forced to Marry Pudding
After Viola, Sanji returned to dealing with another woman, namely Charlotte Pudding. To establish an alliance between the Big Mom family and Germa 66, Judge forced Sanji to marry Pudding. Sanji had no other choice because the people in Baratie are taken hostage by Germa 66.
Pudding herself has another evil personality and intended to kill Sanji. In the end, she even melted at Sanji who had helped her.
9. Forced to Beat Luffy
At Luffy's encounter with Sanji at Whole Cake Island, he was very exhausted from the fight against Cracker. Sanji, who wanted to protect his family, chose to settle down and marry Pudding, for the benefit of the Straw Hats too.
Because of that, he was forced to talk harshly to Luffy until he beat him unconsciously. Sanji himself cried while doing it. Luffy himself didn't fight back at all.
10. Lost His Mother at a Young Age
Since he was little, Sanji's mother was physically weak and often sick. This made Sanji often cook for himself to cheer her up. Sanji's mother loved him very much, and so did Sanji. Unfortunately, Sanji had to lose his mother who was no longer able to withstand her illness.
