Marvel Studios has just released the latest trailer for Shang-Chi. In the 2-minute video, we can see glimpses of the Ten Rings’ powers, along with some details that you may not be aware of.

On this occasion, we have compiled the talking points and interesting details from the Shang-Chi trailer for you.

1. The Conflicting Views of Shang-Chi’s Parents

The trailer begins with a family scene. Mandarin (Wenwu) tells little Shang-Chi about the Ten Rings. According to Mandarin, the Ten Rings are the source of powers of the family, which someday would be handed to Shang-Chi to replace Mandarin as the leader of The Ten Rings organization.

Mandarin also mentions that Shang-Chi has to prove his worth to use the said object.

On the other hand, Jiang Nan also gives some words to little Shang-Chi. Unlike the father, who’s a warlord and a criminal, Jiang Nan takes the role of a mentor for Shang-Chi with her sympathetic and kind nature. It’s interesting to see that Shang-Chi has two influential figures with different views.

2. A Mysterious Location

There’s an interesting scene in this trailer. Shang-Chi, along with three other characters, go to a temple located in a mountain range. The exact location is still unknown, but it seems that it plays an important role in the movie.

Shang-Chi comes across a mysterious door that barriers him, implying that he has to prove his worth before entering the place.

3. Death Dealer, Shang-Chi’s Mentor/Nemesis

The scene then cuts to a masked character named Death Dealer, Mandarin’s loyal right-hand man. Throughout Shang-Chi’s childhood, he’s been mentoring Shang-Chi to become a formidable warrior.

Once Shang-Chi grew up, Death Dealer is tasked by Mandarin to wipe him off after he found out that Mandarin leads The Ten Rings. Not wanting his plans to fall apart, Mandarin sends Death Dealer to kill Shang-Chi.

4. Father vs. Son

The trailer also features an intense fight scene between a father and a son, Mandarin vs. Shang-Chi. Both are fighting for the ten mystical rings, and they emit different lights, each color represents the person’s personality.

Mandarin emits blue light whereas Shang-Chi emits yellow light. This is probably the climax scene that features a final battle between a father and a son to prove who is the more worthy to be the user of the Ten Rings.

5. A Dragon Under the Water

Previously, there’s a rumor that says the movie will feature the dragon-shaped creature, Fin Fang Foom. A Makluan who landed on earth. The location where the creature resides is where Mandarin found the Ten Rings.

However, Simu Liu, who plays Shang-Chi in the movie, revealed that we won’t be seeing Fin Fang Foom in this movie. However, there will be a dragon called The Great Protector, and it’s been confirmed/leaked with the release of the Action Figure a few months ago.

6. Abomination vs. Wong

Last but not least, the trailer ends with an unexpected scene. At the end of the latest trailer, we can see Abomination, the villain in The Incredible Hulk, making an appearance. Abomination is doing a cage fight against the Kamar-Taj wizard, Wong.

This scene also serves as an answer to the previously leaked picture of Benedict Wong and Simu Liu. As it turns out, Wong is also going to make an appearance in the movie.
