8 Things That Don't Make Sense from Monkey D. Luffy in One Piece!
Here are 8 things that don't make sense from Monkey D. Luffy that existed in One Piece!
Anime & Manga | 28 May
Monkey D. Luffy is our favorite character as One Piece fans. Even though he is a bit stupid, Luffy is a hero who has saved many lives. There are several things that don't make sense from Luffy that seem interesting to discuss. Have a look at the article below!
1. Once Thought that He Doesn't Have a Father
Normally, everyone would know that they have a father even though some may never meet him. In contrast to Luffy who had thought that he did not have a father. This is because, since birth, Luffy was raised by his grandfather, Garp without ever meeting his father, Dragon.
You can see the scene of Luffy being surprised that he has a father at the end of the Water Seven arc, where Garp comes and tells him about Monkey D. Dragon. While Luffy is confused about having a father, the others are shocked to learn that his father is the most wanted person in the world.
2. Beaten by Nami
As a Gomu Gomu no Mi eater (before the truth is revealed), Luffy has a rubber body and it cannot be damaged by man-made weapons like bullets and blades, as well as physical attacks that can bounce off from his body. Only devil fruit or Haki users should be able to hurt him.
The funny thing is, Nami has always been able to beat Luffy up when he does stupid things. Luffy himself is not confused about how Nami can injure him. Nami is just an ordinary person who doesn't eat devil fruit or master Haki. We don't know what kind of strength she has that makes her able to make her captain black and blue.
3. Unusual Body Metabolism
Another fact that doesn't make sense from Monkey D. Luffy is his body's abnormal metabolism. This is because his body can digest a lot of food in a very short time. There are two possibilities that happened, either Oda really made this thing seem unreasonable to us or it was due to Luffy's actual devil fruit ability.
When fighting Charlotte Cracker, Luffy continued to eat his biscuits until his body grew and became round. Even though his body is rubber, is Luffy normally able to do that? In your own opinion, is this normal for a rubber ability owner like Luffy?
4. Awesome Teeth Regeneration
In the Whole Cake Island arc, Luffy lost one of his teeth after receiving a heavy kick from Sanji. After they were at Capone Gang Bege's hideout, Brook explained to Luffy that milk is good for bone and hair growth. Brook often drinks milk to restore his fractured bones.
That's true, it's just that there's something that doesn't make sense from Luffy. Shortly after drinking the milk, his missing tooth grew back instantly. Normally it takes a long time for the teeth to grow back. Plus, it seems that people around Luffy's age can no longer grow their teeth anymore.
5. Must Think Before He Feels Coold
It seems even more obvious if Luffy's body is like a cartoon character. This is because he needs to think before his body reacts to the circumstances around him. For example, in Punk Hazard. Luffy's body initially did not feel the extreme cold in that place until he realized the cold.
On Drum Island, Luffy felt normal in the extreme cold. He just needed to wear a regular jacket without long pants. How strange.

6. Survived Intense Training
Since he was a tyke, Garp has always trained Luffy to become a dashing Marine soldier someday. Garp didn't train Luffy normally, but with a training regiment that threatened the kid's life. In Garp's flashback with Luffy, we can see that Luffy underwent forced training that almost killed him.
Examples include being thrown off a cliff, fighting wild animals, and so on. At Luffy's age at that time, which is still relatively young (perhaps around 4 or 5 years old), it's impossible for him to survive that kind of training. Even though at that time Luffy might have eaten the Gomu Gomu no Mi, but still, something like that should have killed him.
7. His Plan to Laugh Tale
Luffy is very sure that he can reach Laugh Tale just by following the path through each island, also with the instructions from the Poneglyphs. Surprisingly, Luffy and the others never tried to look for other leads. It was natural that he would refuse Rayleigh to reveal his location, but there are other clues that should have been sought.
8. Red Hawk
Red Hawk is a technique that Luffy mastered after the time skip. He learned this technique because he was inspired by his older brother, Ace, who mastered the Mera Mera no Mi ability. Even so, this doesn't make sense since Luffy shouldn't be able to use powers related to fire. Then how did he master the technique? Only Oda knows the answer!
