Imagine the world of Harry Potter, filled with magic, but set against a more exotic and warm backdrop—Bali! A YouTube channel called demonflyingfox has successfully visualized this unique idea through a video titled "Harry Potter but in Bali." The video, created with the help of AI, is highly entertaining and infused with distinct Balinese touches.
Harry Potter Set in Bali
In the video, Harry Potter, the young wizard we usually know with British heritage, is now depicted as a child of Balinese descent. One standout moment is when a character resembling Hagrid, with his typical authoritative style, informs Harry that he is not a wizard as we know it, but rather a "Bali Person."
Another intriguing scene features Hermione Granger, the intelligent and always accurate character, correcting a tourist who mispronounces the name of the area Canggu. "It's called Canggu, not Canggew," Hermione asserts, teaching the correct pronunciation.
The uniqueness of Bali is also highlighted by the creator, including a driver of an online motorcycle taxi who bears a striking resemblance to Dobby, the house elf. With an accent reminiscent of Dobby's, the driver offers a ride.
Perhaps the most impressive transformation is that of Draco Malfoy, Harry's nemesis. In this Balinese version, Draco is portrayed as a Russian tourist who seems quite accustomed to the touristy atmosphere of Bali. In Russian, he says, "There are many tourists out there who are better than other tourists," a line reminiscent of one of Malfoy’s classic dialogues, but this time referring to tourists rather than wizards.
The video skillfully blends local Balinese elements with characters from the Harry Potter universe. If you’re curious about how the Harry Potter world would look if set in Bali, this video is definitely worth watching!
