Having made their MPL ID S16 debut, RRQ Hoshi, with their ABC roster featuring Zunesh and Rezz as Jungler and EXP Laner, respectively, looked promising. RRQ Loses to Geek Fam, a New Challenge for the ABC Duo in MPL ID Season 16!

The match between Geek Fam and RRQ Hoshi will take place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the second match of the third day of week one of MPL ID Season 16. For the record, RRQ Hoshi won against Alter Ego with a score of 2-1 the previous day. Like RRQ, Geek Fam also won against Team Liquid ID with a score of 2-1 on the same day.

The meeting between these two teams is certainly highly anticipated. If RRQ loses against Geek Fam, it will be a challenge for the ABC duo of Rezz and Zunesh. However, if Geek Fam loses, it will be a crucial evaluation for Baloyskie and his teammates, considering they haven't made any roster changes this season. This match will also be a test of whether "The King Slayer is back?" or whether the King is still reigning supreme.

In Game 1, RRQ Hoshi took the early lead. Zunesh's Fanny play stole the spotlight. RRQ Hoshi won teamfight after teamfight, temporarily leading Geek Fam. However, Geek managed to counter with a Gobs and Maykids combo. Geek's Lancelot and Arlott successfully counterattacked RRQ.

Having the upper hand since the early game, Geek Fam successfully held off RRQ Hoshi's advance. Geek Fam regained the first Lord, attempting to push back RRQ. RRQ was still able to withstand Geek Fam's onslaught. However, RRQ seemed to struggle to turn the tide. Toyy and Idok fell, and the RRQ players fell, leaving only Zunesh.

Kennzyskie's Sun secured a triple kill, successfully destroying RRQ Hoshi's formation. The second Lord was secured, and Geek Fam returned to attack RRQ Hoshi's base, ultimately resulting in RRQ's defeat. The King Slayer has returned, posing a test for RRQ's new roster, along with the "ABC" duo. It was an exciting prospect, but RRQ's defeat to Geek Fam pushed the King into the middle of the standings.
